August 2024 In-service Week Reminder

As the school year winds down and you all get a well-deserved break, I want to put so me August events on your radar.

Tuesday, 8/27:

To kick-off the first day back for all staff, there will be a virtual all-district welcome back which you will attend from your school.

Wednesday 8/28 – 8AM-4PM:

Student Services staff (nurses and certified) will attend a conference style training at Caldera High School.  The day will start with breakfast and registration beginning at 7:45. After a whole group welcome and introduction, participants will split into job-alike cohorts for the first break-out session, followed by three additional choice-based break-out sessions with a delicious lunch catered by BLS nutrition services.  All choice break-out session have been planned and developed based on feedback and requests we received from you.  To close the day, we will have a community resource fair with featuring a host of partners from around the region from 3-4 PM.  Please stay tuned for more details about the event and descriptions of the break-out sessions.

Thursday 8/29 and Friday 8/30 – 8AM-11AM:

All “new to the district” inclusion EAs will receive onboarding training.  Student Services central office team will host this “two mornings”  training to support the great start for our new inclusion EAs.  At the end of each session, EAs will return to the buildings to work the rest of the day with your teams.  This training will coincide with the instructional EA trainings that will occur on those same days.

Please see the Certified August In-Service Week Calendar HERE for a more detailed version of what the week will entail.

Inclusion EAs will report to work on Tuesday 8/27, Thursday 8/29, and Friday 8/30.

That’s all for now.  I wish everyone a strong finish and a graceful and proud slide into summer break!

FROM THE DESK OF APRIL DIEHL

Case Managers,

Please remember to turn in your High-Cost forms to me before you leave for the summer.

Also, as a point of clarification, you can include 1:1 time your student has with an SSC or SSEA. For these instances, please make a note of who the 1:1 is with (SSEA Jane Doe – 3 hours a day). If you have already turned in a form where this was left off, you can email me, and I will add the information for you.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

SLPs,

Please remember to confirm all of your sessions in SEAS before leaving for the summer. Also, please make sure all of your students have a recommendation on file in SEAS as well.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me.

Have a great summer!

-April
