Hello Westside Village Families!
Here are a few things to look out for this week:
Welcome to the 2024-25 School Year!
Dear Westside Village Families,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! We hope that summer has brought you some joy and relaxation with family and friends. It is time to start thinking about school! Whether you are returning to us for another year or joining our Village family for the first time, there are some pieces of information that will help the start of a successful school year!
Mark your calendars for Open House on Wednesday, August 28th 4:30-6:00. This will be an opportunity to connect with all staff, sign up for Before and After School Care/Clubs, and learn more about the school year ahead.
We have a deep commitment to making sure all families and students develop a sense of belonging and joy of being part of our community. Together we will build on nurturing patience, empathy, listening, and openness. We are looking forward to connecting, relating, and learning from all of you. Strong partnerships with our families is key to a successful school experience for our children.
Enjoy the remaining days of summer and get ready by being curious, adventurous, and brave. In collaboration, together, we can take the next steps toward being amazing humans that collectively inspire and build infinite potential in all.

Get Remind Texts
Be on the lookout for an invitation to join Westside Village’s Remind text group. Groups are by grade level, so you may need to accept multiple invitations. Often our texts apply to our entire community but there are times that they are specific to a certain grade level, so it’s good to join each applicable group.
News From Friends

Friends of Westside Village is our nonprofit organization that supports and guides our school improvement. It is a group of parents, guardians, community members and staff that works together to develop and monitor our school improvement plan. This includes finances, curriculum, programs, and events. The Village Council is made up of Friends Volunteer Board Members and elected families, students, and school staff (traditionally known as Site Council.)
Friends of Westside Village also develops, directs and supplements our Extended Care Programs, Clubs, Adventures, Artists in Residence, and other enhancement academic and social activities.
The Village Council develops and leads the work, follows articles of organization (bi-laws,) and makes decisions based on budget, finances, and input from our families and community members. Our open meetings are once a month during the school year. We highly encourage our families to attend.
Starting this fall, Extended Care/Clubs will be available at a flat rate on a six week rotation to allow flexibility for families to choose from 1 to 5 days of extended care per week according to your needs. The monthly rate will vary based on the number of days your child attends, allowing you to customize their after-school schedule as it suits your family.
As always, we will offer partial scholarships to families who qualify for government assistance, ensuring that our extended care program remains accessible to all students.
We are able to accommodate all of our families that would like to take part in our Extended Care program. There is no worry of being put on a waitlist.
Stay tuned for more information on upcoming blogs.
