WVMS Giving Tree

Every holiday season the WVMS Community sets up a Giving Tree to help out and spread joy to our families that need some extra support and help during the holiday season. This year the WVMS Giving Tree is located in the office lobby at school. This is an awesome opportunity to show some WVMS families some love this holiday season. The Giving Tree has “holiday wishes” on the ornaments” to be filled.  The Giving Tree is updated frequently as we receive & fulfill holiday wishes.

To participate: simply pick an ornament with a wish from the Giving Tree, let office staff know which wish you would like (they are numbered), fulfill the wish, and return the unwrapped wish items to the office (with the wish ornament attached or wish number clearly marked on the item/s) no later than Wednesday, December 18th. If you are unable to come to school,  just give us a call  and we will help you pick a wish.

Please know that the WVMS community is amazing! Our community members are “all about” helping out other community members! If you need some help during the holiday season, please accept this invitation. The Giving Tree is anonymous & gives folks great joy in knowing they can make the holidays a little lighter and more magical for other folks in our special community.

If you are interested in having your family be a recipient of our giving tree and have their wishes put on the tree – please email [email protected] or [email protected] or call the office at 541-355-2000 ASAP.

If you took an ornament wish from the tree and did not let a staff person know what number, please let a staff member know what number wish you took.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Felicia or Marcie or call the office at 541-355-2000.

College & Career Day, 11/21

It’s that time of year again! November 21st is College and Career Day in Bend-La Pine Schools. Westside Village encourages students to explore the multitude of pathways available to students after they graduate high school. This is a K-12 day! We want all students to be dreaming about what options they have after they leave our schools and striving to meet their infinite potential.

Dress for the Weather

It’s getting cold and the snow has already made an appearance. Please remember that we go outside, even if it’s cold and snowy! Please make sure your student is dressed in appropriate clothes for the weather. Snow boots and snow pants are sometimes best! An extra change of clothes in their cubby is also a good idea in case they get wet. Please, please label their belongings so that we can return them if lost. See below…

Lost & Found

There is so much to find! Please take a look through the lost and found. Items with names were returned to cubbies; make sure to check there too! Any items not claimed before Winter Break will be donated.

Thanksgiving & Winter Break Camp

Friends of Westside Village offers Non School Day Camp for non school days.  Sign up through Bend Parks and Rec!

Nov 25-29:
NO SCHOOL for Thanksgiving Break. Camp offered Nov 25-27.

Dec 23-Jan 3:
NO SCHOOL for Winter Break. Camp offered Dec 23 – Jan 3 (No camp Dec 25 or Jan 1).

Join Us for Our Winter Bazaar on 12/7!

Get ready for an exciting day as our school community comes together to host the Winter Bazaar! This event offers a unique opportunity for students to flex their entrepreneurial skills by setting up tables to showcase their projects, crafts, or items for sale. In addition to student tables, we welcome community vendors! If you’re interested in reserving a spot to share your products with our vibrant community, you can book a vendor table. For all details and to reserve a table, visit friendsofwestside.com/events.

Please help us recruit Vendors from the community.

Students can either purchase their own tables or choose to work with classmates on a school project, allowing them to collaborate, create, and contribute. Preparations are in full swing, with dedicated time at school and the option to work on projects at home.

Find more information about student home projects here.

Every student will also be working on a business plan, offering a chance to gain hands-on experience in planning, organizing, and executing a project from start to finish.

Mark your calendar for December 7, and come support our young entrepreneurs and community vendors. We can’t wait to see you there!
