Elder Campers at East Lake
Innovative Learning Camp Fun!
8th Grade Backpacking, Oct 1-3
Our 8th grade students will be headed backpacking in the Three Sisters Wilderness Wednesday, October 1st to Friday, October 3rd. Find more information here and the permission slip here. Find the packing list and medication form here.
Students are expected to be at school at 7:30am on Wednesday, October 1st. They are also expected to pack their own lunch for all three days.
Please return permission slips and money asap so that we can plan accordingly. The cost is $35 and can be paid with cash, check or card in the office or on the friendsofwestside.com website.
Picture Day, Oct 3
Smile! Dorian Studios will be at our school for fall pictures on Friday, October 3rd. All students will be photographed. Order forms went home and are available in the office, or you can order online. Find more information HERE, or En Español.
Retakes will be Thursday, November 13th.
Dental Screening, Oct 9
Advantage Dental will be at our school Thursday, October 9th to provide dental services free of charge. Consent forms came home with students, they are available in the office, or complete the online consent form here. If you do not wish to have your student screened, there is no need to complete the form. ONLY students that have a completed form asking for services will be screened/serviced.
iPad Insurance for 6th-8th
The deadline for purchasing iPad insurance is Tuesday, September 30th. iPad insurance (6th-8th graders) can be paid online by going to the district website Parent Tools page and clicking FEES AND FINES. Username is your Student’s 6 digit ID number and password is your Student’s last name (Upper case first letter). Payment can also be made by cash or check in the office. iPad insurance is not required, but strongly encouraged. Insurance cannot be purchased after an iPad is damaged. iPad insurance does not cover a lost iPad.
Anti Bias Lessons
We are working hard to ensure every student feels a sense of belonging and inclusion in our learning community. Please read our Family Letter about anti-bias lessons here.
Photo Opt-Out
During the school year we enjoy taking pictures of our students doing awesome things! These are used for school-only slide shows and sometimes to post on our social media pages. We never share names of students. If you wish that your student’s photo not be shared, please email Ms. Marcie or call the office.

WVMS Night at Mountain Burger, Sept 29
Mark your calendars for Monday, September 29th! Plan to have dinner at Mountain Burger (2747 NW Crossing Dr, Bend, OR 97703) and earn money for our school. Mountain Burger has agreed to give 10% of sales ALL DAY on Sept 29 back to Friends of Westside Village! Can’t wait to see you there!
