5/27-5/31 Weekly Update

2019-2020 Master Schedule

Houston we have a problem…or opportunity.

As mentioned in an earlier post, our leadership team decided to move forward into next year using our current schedule, moved forward by an hour, with only a few minor tweaks.  Unfortunately (or fortunately if we choose to view this an opportunity), a couple of monkey wrenches were thrown into this plan after that decision;

  1. We are required to provide at least 75 minutes of PE with a certified PE teacher each week.
  2. Nutrition services is asking for lunch to be served no earlier than 11:15.

Our current schedule won’t meet either of these requirements so we will need to revise it.  It’s not going to be possible to pull a team together to rebuild the schedule before we leave for summer but I have some thoughts/plans for how to handle this which I will share with leadership next week.  There’s a good chance I will put out a survey to gather some specific information to use, so watch for that survey in a separate email.

All School BBQ

It looks like we have no rain on the radar for Wednesday, so I am looking forward to a fun and dry BBQ.  Don’t forget your lunch is already covered by PTO. Please take a moment to know your selected time and encourage everyone to be patient.  There will be lines, but we will move things as quickly as we can. It will also be important to let kids know their recess won’t look the same as a typical day, so their space for playing games will be limited and we expect them to be careful of everyone picnicking on the field.

End Of Year Meetings

For those of you in your evaluation year, please remember to complete and submit your self-reflection by May 24th.  To access your self-reflection in TalentEd, go to the portal and look at the bottom of the list of Quick Links.  SLGGs are required for everyone, so even if you are not in an evaluation year, please be sure to sign up for an EOY meeting to review SLGGs.  To be prepared for that meeting please have your fall data and spring data to review. I have the hard copies of your SLGGs for just about all of you on file, if you need to see them.  I have minis done for just about everyone and for those of you who have one left, your end-of-year meeting can count as the last one.
