April 15

Good News- It’s great to be able to start off this week’s notes with some very good news. Kevin M. reached out this past week to share that at his last appointment there is no indication of any cancer. He will have two more check ins during the next 12 months. If there are still no indications in the next 12 months, he can begin using the word “cured.” Very happy to be able to share this news with you all and hoping that the next 12 months brings even better news.

Conferences- It was really great to see so many parents back in the building for conferences. We heard nothing but positives from parents. Thanks for working so hard to connect and partner with families to help each of our students succeed. The time, thought, and emotional energy that goes into conferences is recognized and appreciated!

Erin’s Law- Some of you may have had parents ask about previewing materials we are using for Erin’s law. We included this link in the informational letter we sent home. Please feel free to send the link to parents. If they would like more information, they can call Jon or Gary. In addition, please remember to complete the google form indicating the dates you/your grade taught the lessons.

Volunteer Information- With parents starting to come back in the building, those of you who want can begin taking volunteers again. This info sheet with live links is now ready for your information.

Testing- for those of you participating in state testing, please complete the TA training and submit to me your signed test security assurance form. Since I was out on Tuesday, we will reschedule the scheduling meeting very soon and get that to everyone. Thanks to Katie Chamberland who has already adopted a class. Please check into it and do so if you haven’t already. Remember, it just means making a poster of encouragement and bringing it to your class the Friday before testing (May 6).

Personal Days- This was in the elementary principal notes. Bottom line: if you want a personal day, submit your request as we may not be able to approve.

“It’s that time of year where people will be cashing in their personal days.  Please remember the 5% rule.  No more than 5% of your bargaining unit (certified) can be out on the same day with personal days.  As Steve Herron mentioned last week at our meeting, it is up to the school to keep track.  Rule of thumb is that for larger schools, It’s 2 people. Please pass this information on to your office managers so they can help you manage these requests so you don’t approve too many for one day.”
