January 21st Update

Educator Network Day

Educator Network Day is today.  Remember that sessions begin at 2:05.  Here is a list of titles and locations.  If you haven’t signed up for a session please do, so your facilitator knows how many participants to expect.  In addition, please remember to sign in when you arrive at your session.

Progress Report Updates

Characteristics of a Learner
2nd Grade- additional items were showing up beyond the priority standards (self awareness, collaboration and adaptability).  A few extra lines that include respectful 2x and attentive were showing up as needing to be scored.  This has occurred because data was entered before the progress reports were finalized.  IT is able to hide these items.  You will see a few lines that say “divider” at the end.  Don’t worry about these. They won’t be visible when finished.

I am hearing about a few scoring errors in Characteristics of a Learners as well.  Some items are showing up as:  m, e, sm still instead of a 1-4 scale.  We will get these corrected in the next couple of days.

Comments
The main comment box is limited to 850 characters.  There is an additional comments box which is available after all addendum’s have been added where you can put an additional 850 characters.  It is important to note that these two comment boxes show up in two different locations so they will not flow together.

Forefront Math
There is an identified issue with data flowing from Forefront to Synergy and then to the progress report.  IT is working with Forefront and has identified the issue.  They are hoping to have this issue fixed later today (Wednesday).  You can still add your data to Forefront….just don’t add information directly into Synergy yet.

Math Happenings

🚀 Amplify End-of-Unit Assessment Data and Synergy
Digital End-of-Unit Assessment data is now being imported automatically from Amplify to Forefront, then to Synergy. Please be aware of the following processing delays:

  • Amplify → Forefront: Data takes 2-3 days to appear after the assessment is completed.
  • Forefront → Synergy: There is an additional 24-hour delay for scores to sync between these systems.

Action Required: Manual Entry Please continue to manually input all Pre-Unit Checks and Sub-Unit Quizzes into Forefront. These scores do not sync automatically.

Oregon’s State Standard vs. Amplify Desmos Math
Oregon’s Mathematics Standards use the phrase “an algorithm,” promoting flexibility and allowing students to use any efficient strategy to solve problems. In contrast, Amplify Desmos Math teaches and assesses “the standard algorithm.”

  • To align with Oregon’s flexible approach, please allow students to use various efficient strategies when solving.
  • While auto-scored digital assessments cannot be changed, you can adjust scores for alternative strategies once entered into Forefront.

MOY mClass Math Data in Forefront

  • You will see your mClass Math data populated in Forefront in the next week or so.
  • Key Distinction: The mClass Math scores are being transferred as separate, foundational standards.
  • No Impact on Gradebook: This data will not impact a student’s proficiency level on the core grade-level standards that transfer to the Synergy Gradebook. The two data sets remain separate for reporting purposes.
    • If you want to use this data for progress reports, you will need to manually change proficiency on the progress report.
