1st grade live bird videos
The IT department is trying to solve the live-bird videos on students’ iPads. The best recommendation is to do the following:
- Display for the whole class to watch on teacher ipad
- Borrow a bunch of teachers’ ipads and put in a center
They hope to have a solution, because it is a super cool activity and important to the curriculum. But they do not foresee a solution in the near future.
Expeditionary Learning – Multimedia
- Grade 3, Module 4 – Water Around the World recording a video water PSA multimedia resource.
- Grade 4, Module 4 – Responding to Inequality: Ratifying the 19th Amendment recording a video PSA multimedia resource.
Grade 3, Module 3 Literary Classics
Module 3 requires students to think about Peter Pan and the historical context in which it was written, which was in 1904. To make the historical context accessible and comprehensible to students a team (including Advocacy coaches) has created these resources and supports. These are meant to enhance EL lessons, being taught as applicable alongside the EL lessons. Teacher resources to print and student facing slides to display. Please reach out to your instructional coach if you have any questions.
Grade 4, Module 4 Responding to Inequality: Ratifying the 19th Amendment
Module 4 uses literature and informational texts to introduce students to gender and racial inequality issues in the United States in the first half of the 20th century, and to recognize how the process of ratifying the 19th Amendment can teach us about how people were responding to gender and racial inequality at that time. To make the historical context accessible and comprehensible from the book The Hope Chest to students, a team (including Advocacy coaches) has created these resources and supports. These are meant to enhance the EL lessons for The Hope Chest being taught, as applicable alongside the EL lessons. Teacher resources to print and student facing slides to display. Please reach out to your instructional coach if you have any questions.
Summer money-making opportunities for literacy
Please reach out to Lindsley Gehrig by May 14th if you are interested in any of these extra projects this summer. I’ll reach out and give more information on the 15th.

Reminder: Ordering materials/curriculum/print shop for next year
Please do not go to the teacher hub and start ordering for next year YET. We are in the process of adding more options, but it will take some time to get everything coordinated. Your instructional coach or I will attend an upcoming staff meeting at your building to support you with ordering later in May, please wait until then. Hooray!
