Walkouts-Just a thank you for all you did to help Wednesday’s walkouts go smoothly. I know the participation and the amount of time you had to devote to coordinating varied from site to site, but I also know that it took a lot of mental and emotional energy from everyone. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
Title I Supplies/Materials- As you know, due to Title I budget constraints, we discontinued our preschool program this year. This decision has left us with a lot of unused inventory and I would love for that to change. Linked you will find a list of all the available inventory that is currently housed at Bear Creek. On Thursday of conferences, we are opening up Bear Creek to all Title I principals to do a little shopping. JoAnne will be at Bear Creek from 8-12 to check out any materials you would like to take for your schools. These materials are free to Title I schools with the understanding that if/when we reopen preschool, usable materials may need to be returned. Call if you have any questions.

OBOB- On Wednesday, Lora met with elementary media managers to discuss OBOB. Please read this summary so that you understand what was shared.
Interns/Teacher Candidates- OSU’s department of Human Development and Family Services is looking to place interns into our Kindergarten or first grade classrooms in the fall of ’18. Interns would be in classrooms 27 hours/week for 10 weeks. There is no teaching component, just an extra body in the classroom. In addition, they are ready to begin looking at placements for teacher candidates for next school year.
I have told Erin Feeney, OSU placement coordinator, that she is welcome to contact schools directly to gauge interest and find placements. Your initial contact should not be from candidates as we are going to go through Erin for all placements. Let me know if you have any questions.
Article- Here is an interesting article with some great food for thought around class size. Not sure I really even agree with it all, but it certainly makes me think, which is a good (some might say rare) thing. 😉
