School Report Cards- School report cards need to be shared with families by January 15. Web link, school newsletter, hard copies are all acceptable means of sharing.

Kindergarten- I have a couple of questions regarding kindergarten registration. Please send me your answers by the Friday before Thanksgiving break.

  1. Do you begin registering students before our annual April Round Up?
    1. If yes, what is your process? Community fair, etc.
  2. Please share with me your thoughts on an earlier Round Up. Would you like to see it earlier? If so, when? What are some potential advantages or disadvantages?

Kinder Camp-  Please let me know if you did some kind of kinder camp where you waited to assign kindergarten classes until after having them in the schools for a few years. If so, please give me a one paragraph or less description of the process you used. Thank you.

From Dan W. – Hi everyone ~ I wanted to let you know about the upcoming COSA Statewide Early Learning Conference specifically focused on Pre K – 3rd grade.   This year’s conference is in Eugene, Nov. 7th – 9th.  Please go here to find out more information about this conference.

Departmentalized Instruction-Please let me know if you are doing any kind of departmentalized instruction. If so, how many grades, teachers, etc. are involved?

BrightBytes Survey-  The BrightBytes survey window will open November 12th and close November 30th.  Skip will be sending out directions for students and teachers in two separate emails next week.  If you have any questions about how to administer this survey please let him know.  Remember, this survey is used by Shay in his report to the board regarding our Future Ready board ends.  Please ensure that students and teachers fully participate in this survey.

District Agreements-   Our BLP District Agreements/ standards of practice in math, reading and writing that were shared in this blog on August 17 still apply. If you are having trouble meeting the agreed upon time expectations in math, reading and/or writing, please let me know and we can dive into your master schedule together to be sure we are meeting those.

DHS Forms-Apparently, DHS will no longer be accepting faxed copies of report forms. I don’t know the reasoning for this decision. Please share this with staff and please continue to send a copy to the Ed. Center and keep one for your records. For now, no copies to DHS until we learn more.
