First Aid Ratios- I’ve linked our first aid ratios and requirements. We look great overall. If there is an error, please let Stephanie Bent know. We can’t make anyone get it, but anything you can do to encourage staff if you are below ratio would be great. Thank you.
October Visit- Thank you for taking the time to walk me around classrooms the past couple of weeks. I’ve really enjoyed it and appreciate your time. You are doing amazing things at each of your schools and I’m thoroughly impressed with how you all handle so many demands. I’d like to visit everyone in October to look at SBAC data, School Design Plans and slgg’s (more on that later). Please sign up here to schedule an October visit. Thanks!
Title- JoAnne is currently working on the district budget narrative that needs to be submitted to ODE on October 15th. In order to complete this, she needs all of your budgets complete. This means that all allocated $ are earmarked for staffing, materials, PD or parent involvement. The first three can flow back and forth, meaning you can spend all of it on one or spread it out between the three. The Parent involvement must all be spent on parent involvement activities. You may make changes to your budget after it is completed, but we do need all of them zeroed out before JoAnne can submit the district budget narrative. In addition, please be sure that any title purchase requests are in your budget before submitting.
Here are a couple of other Title I reminders:
- JoAnne will be sending you an invite to a Title I Team Drive
- Please send out your notification to parents of their right to request information regarding teacher qualifications.
- Please enter a date for your 2017-2018 annual Title I parent information night into JoAnne’s Title team drive.
- ODE has not yet provided us with the annual checklist. We will share with you all when we receive it from ODE.
Call me with any Title questions.
Math EBISS- Please have your EBISS team sign up on PD place for the October 5 math EBISS training.
SLGG’s- We will be doing SLGG’s again this year, but please hold off until all of the changes (can you believe they made changes to this?!) can be summarized for you. Jon will be presenting at a meeting or sending out notes explaining the changes and requirements. Overall, I believe the changes are steps in the right direction.
October 2 Leadership- We will be having a leadership meeting on Monday, October 2. You don’t need to bring anything special with you, but please be thinking about some challenges you are having around the school design planning process. This could be any challenge (measurable goal for future ready, upstream measures for thriving citizen, communicating with stakeholders, implementing a process that includes everyone, etc.). Be prepared to dive into one or more of these at our meeting on the 2nd.
Dental Screenings- Kemple Clinic will be taking over all of our dental screenings for this year. The goal is to screen all BLP K-2 graders and follow up with sealants for those students needing it. We will be doing screening with passive permission, meaning parents will be notified, but need to opt out if they don’t want their child screened. Sealants will require permission from parents. Kemple will provide all parent information and permission forms. We will give directions for distribution when we give you the forms. I am currently finalizing a sign up schedule for you that will be much like the schedule we made for the third grade bike helmets from the center. Look for this in the next week. Please give me a call if you have any questions.
Video- Here is the full video from Monday’s horizontal meeting. Remember our destination is our board ends and student B. Hope you find it as freeing and inspiring as I did.
That’s all for now. Thanks for all you do. Hope you have a great weekend.
