Hour of Code is Upon Us

It’s time for Hour of Code during computer science week – December 7-13, 2015. Many of our teachers and students are participating in the Hour of Code as a classroom and even as a whole school. In fact, we already have some of our schools signed up for an Hour of Code Event.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Nikki Robertson has put together a great compilation of coding sources in a Symabaloo. Click on the image which will take you to the Symbaloo. You can then click on the squares to take you to different sites.

Here’s how she organized it –

The first row of links come directly from the Hour of Code website and include some of the online coding activities students can access.

The second row takes students to the Tynker website and the variety of coding activities available there.

The third row consists of coding sites that teach coding using JavaScript.

The fourth row contains links to unplugged coding activities.

The fifth and sixth rows contain “other” coding sites that students might enjoy.
