From the Principal
Dear Realms HS Families,
We are approaching the middle of the 1st trimester and we strongly encourage students and parents to keep a close eye on StudentVue/ParentVue. Once in StudentVue/ParentVue, click on the Gradebook to see overall letter grades for each class and GO DEEPER by clicking on the academic standards in each class to determine proficiency/mastery by standard!
Standards based grading provides great information about how students are doing in terms of mastering the academic content and skills of each course. Standards are scored using our 1-6 scale and letter grades are determined from an average of each of the standard scores.
Roger White, Principal.

Proficiency Day – THIS Thursday (10-28)!
This Thursday and Friday, 10/28 and 10/29, are No School Days for Realms High School only. Our staff will be hard at work in both staff training with EL Education and in planning sessions both designed to better provide powerful, authentic learning opportunities for our students.
While classes won’t be running on those days, we will still be offering an opportunity to get some extra support. On Thursday, October 28th from 8:45-12:00, we will be offering our first “Proficiency Day” of the year. Teachers and EA’s from our Student Success Team will team up with a small group of volunteer Seniors from our Leadership class to offer extra support for any students looking to catch up on missing work, revise old assignments, and raise their grade before progress reports are sent out on over the weekend of Oct. 29th – Nov 1st.
Buses will be running in the morning, but students will need to determine their own ride home at noon.
PLEASE RSVP IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND PROFICIENCY DAY
Food Drive (brought to you by Leadership!)

Parents and students! We are working with The Giving Plate to run a food drive and will accept donations from Monday, October 18th and ending Thursday, November 18th. Students can bring their donations to their Crew class. The Crew class with the most donations will have a food party. Students can also bring food for the donation at the Fall Festival for booth activity tickets. We will be delivering goods to the Giving Plate on Thursday, November 18th from 1-4 PM if you are interested in helping deliver donations, please contact Jennifer Scalley.
Parents – we ALSO have a large tub outside our Attendance Office if you’d like to drop off donations as well! Here are the most common requests:
