Realms Enrollment For 2023-34 NOW OPEN!

Do You Have or Know Of A Student Interested In Starting At Realms Middle or Realms High Next Year?!

It is that time of year again when we open up our online lottery application to help build our classes for the 2023-2024 school year. Applications are already coming in fast and furious.

Space For Siblings:

If you have a student currently enrolled at Realms Middle School or Realms High School that will be returning next year, AND they have a sibling that you would like to attend Realms Middle or High School, you have the option of saving a spot for that child due to “sibling preference”.  However, you MUST still fill out the online lottery application before the deadline of January 20th, 2023 (only two weeks from now!).   There is a question on the application where you will need to indicate that you have a child currently at Realms.  Please click that box and fill in that child’s name and grade.

RMS 8th Graders:

In addition, if you have an 8th grader at Realms Middle that would like to attend Realms High School, we have 25 spots saved/guaranteed for RMS grads, HOWEVER you must fill out the RHS lottery application before January 20th, 2023 in order to claim the slot.

There are two SEPARATE links for Middle and High School so please make sure you fill out the correct form!!  You can find them both below.

Who Needs An ACR?

The only students who need to complete and ACR are students who want to attend one of our District’s comprehensive/neighborhood high schools that is NOT their attendance area high school. Students who apply for Realms HS do NOT need to complete an ACR. The application to Realms HS basically takes the place of the ACR.

Other Important High School Enrollment Info:

Check our District “high school enrollment page” for ALL the information about ACR’s, Neighborhood High School Info Nights and more.

** current 6th, 7th, 9th, 10, 11th grade students do NOT need to re-apply… their slots are automatically rolled over the the next year!

YouthTruth Survey – Students AND Parents

The Student Survey

We are writing to let you know that we are asking your child to participate in the YouthTruth Student Survey in the coming 2 weeks. The YouthTruth Student Survey is a nationally recognized survey used in hundreds of schools and districts across the country, surveying hundreds of thousands of students. The survey asks students about their experiences in the school and with their teachers, including how engaged they are at school, the rigor of their coursework, and their preparedness for the future. Our school, other schools, and researchers may use such information for developing plans to help schools and teachers improve. For information about this survey, please visit http://youthtruthsurvey.org, or speak to a school administrator.

The Youth Truth PARENT Survey – by January 27th!

Parents – we really want to know what YOU think as well – your input is super valuable to us!

Please DO Take some time to give us your feedback in this YouthTruth Parent Survey. As we recover from the pandemic, this input is more important than ever!

Check Out Our Student’s TikTok!

In the Fall, Sophomores from Mr. Diamond’s Crew took on group projects to make a difference at our school. One intrepid group of social media savvy students asked to start a Student TikTok page. As you might expect, this group had to navigate all sorts of District rules and policies, and they did just that… and with lots of persistence, Realms High School now has a TikTok page! So far the content is all generated from Realms HS, but stay tuned for some Realms MS oriented videos soon. Check it out and be sure to follow us! AND… Thanks to these student leaders for their efforts! Their posts are AWESOME.

An Invitation from our College & Career Director

Hi Realms parents.

Many of you might not know me. My name is Jen Rule, and I run the College & Career Program in the high school. Part of my program is to expose our high schoolers to a variety of careers that they are (or may become) interested in. I do this by arranging small career field trips and professional career chats in school.

Our parents, you, are a big part of our Realms community, and many of you probably have interesting jobs/careers. I’m reaching out to you to see if anyone has an interest in sharing your job/career with a small group of students. This could be at your location or at Realms. Please email me ([email protected]) if you’re able and interested. We appreciate you!

Have a great day,

Jen Rule

THANKS For Supporting the Wreath Sale!

We had a really successful Wreath Sale this year and thanks to the support of MANY of our families and students we raised just over $6000.00 to support fieldwork programming and other components of the EL Education mission at Realms.

THANK YOU, and stay tuned, there are more fundraisers coming including the Banff Film Festival in April and our Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show in May – we can’t wait… both are amazing events so STAY TUNED for more information, sponsorship opportunities and, of course, tickets!
