Did You See This Good News? RHS Graduation Rates!
Recently the state of Oregon released statewide graduation rates. The statewide average for the “4 Year Graduation Rate” for the class of 2022 was 81.3%. The graduation rate at Realms HS was 94.9%… 2nd highest of all high school’s in Bend LaPine. Shout out to the hard working staff (and students!) who believe that EVERY single student CAN and must graduate from high school, ready to be a leader of change! Link to details.
CTE Fly Up Day For 8th Graders – District Wide
On Thursday March 2nd, our 8th grade students will have the opportunity to visit their forecasted high school to participate in a fly-up day from 10:00AM – 12:00PM. The goal of this day is to get students into their high school to learn about the many elective and CTE options they will have access to during high school. Students attending Realms HS will join us on campus to experience CTE and elective related class activities and those heading to neighborhood high schools will be bussed to and from their forecasted school for similar activities.

Senior Expo Night – A Presentation of Senior Projects
Join us for an evening celebrating our amazing Seniors – our 2nd annual “Senior Expo Night”! Seniors will be giving a short, TED Talk style presentation on their Senior Project – the culmination of a project begun in Senior Crew and completed in Lit & Comp 4. Parents, community members and friends encouraged and welcome to attend!

RMS Celebration of Learning – “Hark, Who Goes There?”
OK, OK… I know that this line is from Hamlet not Julius Caesar, but it is Shakespeare nonetheless! And, amongst other awesome demonstrations of academic prowess, dancing skills and more… our 6th graders are TRULY excited to perform their play, Julius Caesar, for you on Thursday March 16th at our Trimester 2 Celebration of Learning!
On Thursday March 16th from 6:00PM – 7:30PM, students from grades 6-8 will be performing, presenting, and displaying their work for an audience of parents and community members.

Pre-ACT, Smarter Balanced Assessments in 8th, 10th, & 11th Grades
Standardized assessments are coming up again soon this year, and we’d like to take a moment to ENCOURAGE students to “say yes” to these assessments.
Why we believe it is IMPORTANT and VALUABLE to take the Smarter Balanced and Pre-ACT tests:
Here at Realms, we believe taking these assessments is valuable for several reasons:
- These assessments are “low stakes” opportunities to get more comfortable with taking “high stakes tests”… a skill that is required throughout high school, college and in order to get into many different careers! Students benefit from the practice of managing time, attention/focus, and synthesizing/recalling academic skill/content. Practicing these skills now makes it that much more comfortable when it comes time for passing that “real test” to get into an apprenticeship program or to get into law school, for example!
- The patterns of growth and achievement across the grades and across the years gives our school very useful information about the strength of our instructional program, nd how/where to improve
- Individually, the scores can provide you with a sense of where your academic strengths are so that you can target areas for future growth
- SBAC Science for 8th Grade – Monday March 20th & Tuesday March 21st
- Pre-ACT for 10th Grade – Tuesday March 21st
- SBAC English for 11th Grade – Monday March 13th – Thursday March 16th
