Seniors are encouraged and expected to participate but MAY be excused from Intensives with a completed and signed “exemption form” if they do not need the credit.
The line up of intensives this May is:

| Craft Punk | Mountain Biking |
INTENT TO RETURN FORMS DUE!
If your student is currently in 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, or 11th, we DO ask that you CONFIRM your Intent to Return (or not!) next year. We have students on the waitlist at each grade level, and it is important that we remain fully enrolled as we start each school year.
So…. please do complete this very short Intent to Return form ASAP!.
ALSO, if you are a current high school student that is considering a change of schools for next year, you will need to confer with Roger to discuss the ACR that may be necessary to make sure your slot at your next intended school is secure.
Smarter Balanced Assessments
Standardized assessment season is upon us, and we’d like to take a moment to ENCOURAGE students to “say yes” to these assessments.
Why we believe it is IMPORTANT and VALUABLE to take the Smarter Balanced and Pre-ACT tests:
Here at Realms, we believe taking these assessments is valuable for several reasons:
- These assessments are “low stakes” opportunities to get more comfortable with taking “high stakes tests”… a skill that is required throughout high school, college and in order to get into many different careers! Students benefit from the practice of managing time, attention/focus, and synthesizing/recalling academic skill/content. Practicing these skills now makes it that much more comfortable when it comes time for passing that “real test” to get into an apprenticeship program or to get into law school, for example!
- The patterns of growth and achievement across the grades and across the years gives our school very useful information about the strength of our instructional program, nd how/where to improve
- Individually, the scores can provide you with a sense of where your academic strengths are so that you can target areas for future growth
The Importance of INTERRUPTING Bias and Racism
Dear Families,
Recently the school district sent a communication about respectful language. This is a topic that our school takes very seriously, so we are taking this opportunity to reiterate this message. Thank you for reading this important message, and for helping us make Realms an inclusive and kind place for all students!
Estimadas familias,
