INTENSIVES 2.0 COMING NOV 3OTH – DEC 3RD!

We are excited to launch Intensives 2.0, and revised version of our normal Intensives program that has been customized to meet the unique needs of our students during this pandemic.

This year, Intensives 2.0 have been re-designed to blend together some of the elements that are students need most right now:

  • face to face time with friends and other teens!
  • social connection and FUN!
  • personalized academic support and/or extension
  • choice and agency
  • family communication

Students will be divided into a Monday/Wednesday group and a Tuesday/Thursday group and EVERY STUDENT at Realms High School will have two mornings scheduled on campus with their cohort featuring on and off campus (walkable) activities designed to build connection, relationships and SMILES!

We will also be scheduling “Student Led Mini Conferences” with every family during this week. You can see all the elements of our Intensives 2.0 week below.

WILL YOU NEED BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR THE ON CAMPUS MORNING SESSIONS?

IF SO, YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR BUS REQUEST HERE.

FRIENDS OF REALMS WREATH SALE – ORDER NOW!

Last year, Realms High School students and families helped sell over 300 wreaths, trees and swags! Between the middle school and high school sales we sold 1500 pieces.

We would LOVE for our high school families to spread the word! Please help Friends of Realms raise funds that will allow us at the high school to purchase equipment, materials and pay for experiences THIS YEAR!

SECOND: Order Your Graduation Gear NOW!

It is now time to begin the ordering process for the Class of 2021 Graduation.  Due to the pandemic, the process to order will be primarily done remotely.  Orders need to be placed through Miners Graduate Services.  Graduates will need to order cap, gown and tassel… everything else is optional.

How to order: Click anywhere on the flyer below to be directed to the website. Then navigate to the “Graduation Supplies” tab and select Realms High School from the drop down menu. Graduates Orders need to be placed by Wednesday, December 9th 2020.

Orders placed after 12/9/20 will be subject to late fees and product restrictions.

CLARIFICATION – ATTENDANCE BUTTON

You might have noticed an email from the Bend LaPine School District regarding an “Attendance Button” that students are supposed to use to log their attendance… sorry for any confusion here! Realms HS is NOT using this system to track attendance. With our small number of students, we do NOT require students to use an attendance button. Here is how students are marked “Present Virtually”:

  • Attend scheduled live WebEx classes for the day
  • Log in to Canvas and complete ANY academic action in the scheduled class… this includes clicking on an assignment, submitting an assignment, emailing a teacher etc. etc.

If a student misses their scheduled WebEx class AND fails to log in to Canvas to complete the assignment AND does NOT email the teacher, then the will be marked “Not Present Virtually”.

PROFICIENCY DAY THIS FRIDAY – NO WEBEX

As hopefully you all know, there are just 3 weeks of classes left in the first trimester, and it is “academic crunch time”. We know that keeping up with the steady flow of work outside of WebEx classes has been hard for many students. This Friday we will be hitting the PAUSE button and there will be no new assignments posted and no WebEx classes.

This is NOT a day OFF for students! Students will be expected to use Friday as a “Proficiency Day” (aka – Catch Up Day) to work on completing any missing assignments and/or improving and re-submitting assignments based on teacher feedback. During the week, teachers will be making sure all students know exactly what to work on during their time on Friday.

Our teachers will be working closely throughout the day with our EL Education coach on 2nd trimester curriculum planning as well as on professional development geared towards helping our teachers improve their use of both Canvas and WebEx to better support student success.
