Welcome Back! Important Updates
As we gear up to welcome students back into the building we have some important information to share.
Please take a moment to watch this [4 minute] informational VIDEO regarding health and safety related procedures that will need to be followed when LPHS students return to in-person learning.
Also, please see the Nurse Newsletter HERE for guidance regarding when to keep your student home from school.
Transition & Orientation Weeks
Transition Week: January 25-29
During this week, teachers will provide lessons and assignments in Canvas, but there will be no live WebEx instruction scheduled; unless a teacher specifically chooses to continue live WebEx sessions. Teachers who will be continuing live Webex teaching will be notifying their students.
9th Grade Orientation: February 1st & 2nd
9th Grade Orientation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. If your student usually rides a bus to LPHS, transportation is provided. You can look at your child’s pick-up time on the transportation website HERE. This will also be their morning pick-up time during Hybrid Instruction. If you are bringing your student to school, or they are walking, please know that our school doors will not open until 9:00 a.m. We don’t want students to show up early and have to wait in the cold. Students will be dismissed from LPHS at 12:00 p.m. on the Orientation days.
9th Graders should plan to attend orientation on the following assigned days:
Monday (Feb 1): 9th grade (Last name A-K)
Tuesday (Feb 2): 9th grade (Last name L-Z)
What to bring for Orientation? Please keep supplies to a minimum. Students will need to bring the following:
- Charged iPad (this is, and remains, a critical learning tool and is extremely important to bring every day!)
- Mask
- Backpack
- Water bottle (with your name on it)
- Coat / Jacket
- Lunch / Snacks **Hot lunch is available for all students free of charge. No need to register.
10th, 11th & 12th Grade Orientation: February 3rd
10th, 11th and 12th Grade Orientation will virtual on February 3rd. Students will be required to attend their Advisory WebEx at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb 3). During this Orientation time students will go over information and details about our new Hybrid schedule, school safety protocol, understanding their schedule/classes, connecting with their peers, how/where to ask for help, and much more!
