Welcome Back Hawks!

We have been waiting a long time for this day. We are so excited to have our La Pine High Hawks back in the building! Here are a few details about your first day and first week back:

If your student rides a bus to LPHS, you can look at your child’s pick-up time on the transportation website HERE. If you are bringing your student to school, or they are walking, please know that our school doors will not open until 9:00 AM. We don’t want students to show up early and wait in the cold! The school day ends at 1:36 PM. If you have your own transportation, getting picked up, or walk – students may leave at that time. Students who ride the bus will be provided with afternoon In-Person-Supported-Instruction (IPSI). On Wednesdays students are required to report to their classes on WebEx; attendance will be taken on Wednesdays. Please see schedule details HERE.

During this time students will go over important school announcements/information, safety protocols, forecasting for next year, understanding their schedule/classes, connecting with their peers, how/where to ask for help, and much more! Students can find their Advisory Teacher & WebEx link HERE

What is happening on February 12th?

Our district has made the decision to change our school day for Friday, February 12th to distance learning, instead of in-person; this is to ensure staff are able to receive their vaccines (which will help to protect our students and their families, school community, and communities as a whole). Teachers will be directly contacting students (cohorts A & B) regarding details for that day. For more details – please see the letter from our Superintendent, HERE.

Helpful Health & Safety Information

As we are reopen for in-person instruction, we want to take a moment to share details about what to expect when there is a positive COVID-19 case at school. We know many of you may have questions about the process and we want to help explain so that the steps are clear. Please see this attached LETTER.

Please take a moment to watch this [4 minute] informational VIDEO regarding health and safety related procedures that will need to be followed when LPHS students return to in-person learning.

Also, please see the Nurse Newsletter HERE for guidance regarding when to keep your student home from school.

From Our Counseling Department

La Pine Students and Families:

We are so excited to have you back in the building for hybrid!  Due to the changes in the schedule and COVID guidelines, the process for seeing your school counselor is a little bit different. Students will not be allowed to “drop-in” into Student Services. Instead, they must schedule an appointment via Appointlet or check-in at the main office and wait for a school counselor to meet with them. Watch these two videos to learn about these two new processes. It’s our honor to serve you and we look forward to continuing to support your academic, personal, and college/career needs.LPHS Counseling Staff,Ms. Jaeckel (grades 10 & 12) and Mr. Bozich (grades 9 & 11)
