All OPS Training on October 23

During the monthly leadership meeting on October 23,  Ops BLAST members will be gathering together while TLC and School leaders have their own session.  We are also planning on gathering at additional times during the year.

Please provide feedback as to how you’d like to spend that time by filling out this quick 3 question google form

Staff Breakfasts Sign Up – LAST CALL

All Ops BLAST members are to sign up nine breakfasts (mix of 7 am and 8 am start times and at least one South County school) @ Staff Appreciation Breakfast Schedule & Sign-Up Sheet.

BLAST supervisors will be meeting with their direct reports who have not signed up for breakfasts. Please reach out to Paul if there are extenuating circumstances for a particular person’s ability to attend nine breakfasts.

Cyber October

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and we’re excited to announce Cyber October! Throughout the month, our IT department will be sharing valuable resources to help improve your cyber hygiene and protect our school district from cyber threats.

All staff will receive a link to our annual cybersecurity training. This mandatory training will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and is crucial in helping to protect both personal and district data from cyberattacks. The window to complete the training is October 1st through November 30th.

IT Purchases

To ensure the safety, quality, and compatibility of our technology, ALL tech-related purchases must be approved and processed through our IT department.

If the answer is “yes” to any of these questions, the purchase must go through IT:

  • Is it a computer, tablet, or related device?
  • Does it connect to or charge one of our devices?
  • Does it connect to our networks or get installed on a device?

Why is this important?

While it may be tempting to purchase cheaper options from websites like Amazon, our district maintains strict standards to ensure all devices are safe, reliable, and compatible with our systems. Unsafe or substandard devices can:

  • Pose risks such as electrical shock or fire
  • Introduce security threats like malware
  • Fail to work properly within our network environment

Power & Internet Outage Protocol

We are drafting a one-page Power & Internet Outage Protocols Document for schools. We are asking department leaders to enter their information so that we can finalize Safety’s draft.
