Hi everyone!
I hope you were all able to spend some time relaxing and rejuvenating during this break. I spent time in the sun and snow and even got engaged:) It was pretty great! I can’t believe we only have 14 weeks left in the year!
On March 25th and 26th, the district released a tentative plan for All-in instruction. If you missed it, you can find it here: https://www.bend.k12.or.us/district/news-events/news/2021/03/tentative-all-plan.
This means that several things are changing for us during these next couple of weeks.
- This week and next week we will not have classes on Wednesday via webex and teachers can use this time to plan for all-in instruction as well as work on reconfiguration. This needs to be at school as far as I know now.
- Conferences will change to be 4 hours on the evenings of the 21st and 22nd.
We don’t yet know a couple of things but I will share it with you at a staff meeting at 9:00 on Wednesday morning in my webex room. These include,
- Our rotation schedule. It will be either Monday/Thursday 0-3 and Tues/Fri 4-7 with Wednesday either 0-7 short or 0-3 one week and then 4-7 the other week.
- Our bell schedule. The first class for students will begin at 10:25 and the last class will end at 4:38. Our contract time will likely be 8:45-4:45.
- Our lunch schedule. There are a few more guidelines within the RSSL guidance that continue to make lunch time challenging. This time may include a longer lunch period, and may also include increased supervision by staff on a rotational basis.
As I said, I will know more about all of the questions that you may have by Wednesday morning. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to shoot them my way and Ryan and I will work on getting answers.
I feel lucky to do this work with all of you. We’ve got this! Happy Monday. -L
