SIW CAL & FRI 10/27 & CONFERENCES
Here are the next 5 SIW’s coming up!
- This Wednesday is Educator Network Day – line up of sessions for everyone here
- Our ICCL team is taking the lead on our Crew focused SIW on the 18th – stay tuned for deets.
- Note that Friday 10/27 is a non student day. 4 hours of PD and 4 hours of comp time for conferences (this is to comp for the evening conferences on Wed Nov 8th) and is one of those additional non contact days that we have at Realms!

ALSO OUR CONFERENCE SCHEDULE – our conferences schedule includes is Wednesday 2:30PM – 8:00PM (there will be a dinner break!) and then conferences from 8-12 on Thursday morning. Thursday afternoon is reserved for PD/Planning from 1PM – 4PM!
The added time we have for PD on morning of Friday Oct 27th and afternoon of Thursday November are “District approved” extra non contact time that Realms gets as part of being an EL Education school. This planning goes best when all our teachers and student support team members are present to work in collaboration. Therefore we encourage staff to try not to schedule personal days during these days if possible! Some already have requested and been approved.
GRADEBOOKS and MIDTERMS
We are starting week #5 of a 12 week trimester (does not incl our 1st “short week”), meaning we are nearing the 50% mark! This also means that it is essential that students (and parents) should by now have access to assignment completion and assignment grading data in StudentVue.
After a pretty comprehensive “drive thru” of our gradebooks, it appears that most of you are solidly on your way with standards, connected assignments/assessments, score data and missing assignment data looking pretty complete. There are a few of you who have either been impacted by the SYnergy gradebook My Objectives issue or you have been waiting to input grades “just in case” the fix causes an disruption. However I believe that Zach and I have checked in with each of those individuals and we have solutions for you to move fwd ASAP..
SO…. Please make sure your gradebooks are getting updated (including Crew at the high school!) asap and that you are directing students (and families where appropriate) to their scores on standards and any missing assignments during class and/or during crew!
Midterm Progress Reports should go out on Friday October 27th, or that weekend if needed.
CALLING ALL PHOTOS!!!!
You all are doing awesome things with kiddos, INSIDE and OUTSIDE the classroom. Access to good photos is super helpful for three reasons: FUNDRAISING, ENROLLMENT OUTREACH and YEARBOOK!
Thanks for dropping your photos in any of these shared albums! OR, if you only have time to email or text them to me, then do that!!

FROM OUR MTSS & SSC TEAMS
ONE THING TO OWN ON OUR END – the numbers of teacher reports on the behavior report form that indicate “need follow up” is currently outpacing the ability that Zach/Roger (with help from our SSC’s) have capacity to follow up on in a timely manner. Please know we are working on this and are having conversations to figure out how we can streamline!
If you want to know more about some of our MTSS data and work, I have gathered some key docs and data on this quick GOOGLE Site. This site is ONLY accessible to Realms staff, and PLEASE DO NOT forward this link to others as it contains links to student names.
I am not sure that this will be useful to you, but our GOAL here will be to increase and improve the communication between members of the Student Support Team (Zach, Roger, Addy, Kat, Renee, Olivia plus case managers!) and our Gen Ed Teaching Team!
Check out this and let me know if it is useful!

Bus Evacuation Training
It’s that time again. We have once again been asked to have teachers show this twelve-minute (!) video in our advisory classes by October 13th (this is late notice from the district, so for me if it goes into the next week that is fine). Students who ride the bus will receive additional training form their driver in the near future (if they haven’t already).
The video is, in my opinion, hilariously cringey… and I think the students will agree. Still, thanks for taking the time to schedule this into your grade-level Crew plans.
