October 21, 2021

Just a reminder everyone that Monday’s Horizontal will be at High Lakes.  The starting time is 3:00.  We will be starting on time.  We will start off in groups.  Groups will be posted in the entryway when you come in.  We are NOT discussing design plans or SLGG’s.  See you there!

Updates, Reminders, Info and Rants…

From Jennifer Hauth – Cultures Aren’t Costumes Checklist for Halloween.  Maybe something to add to your newsletter.  EnglishSpanish

From April Jorgensen re: SIF Plans – Now is a great time to get your SIF budgets entered onto the planning document so that we can get your money transferred into your accounts.  Thank you to those who have already done this.  Call or email April if you have any questions.

From Julie – Just a reminder about the classified training on Oct 27.  Here is the flyer you can print and put in the mailboxes of your classified staff.

From Tami Pike (who is still our Distinguished Administrator of the Year) – BLS Message no longer sends automated exposure notification phone calls to families. If schools would like a phone message to go out to their families alerting them to check their emails, the schools can use their automated phone message system. Here are a couple of sample scripts that could be used.  This is not a requirement for schools. Some may choose not to use this method of communication.

From Lindsley – Are your teachers excited to start upgrading your phonological/phonemic instruction through Heggerty but wondering:

Where in the world does it fit into my foundational skills work? What can I get rid of? What are the options for implementing it- do I have to use the videos, the book …? Well, wait no longer- here is a 5-minute video to help clarify some of those questions!

Another From Lindsley – I’m looking for tall filing cabinets (preferably letter size) for a project. I know there are ones sitting out at schools that you would love to get carted away. Contact Lindsley Gehrig or better yet just call Kevin Gehrig because we know she’s probably going to make him pick it up anyway.

From Human Resources –  We are excited to announce that you can now check your Record of Credit through Employee Online.  Record of Credit has been added to the Personal Information tab – see screen print below.  We have entered all credits we have received up through today so this information is up to date.  We respectfully ask that when you send in new credits moving forward, you allow us a couple weeks to get them entered before following up to see if we have received them. Let us know if you have any questions.

And Finally…

Tammy, Julie and I were thinking about getting everyone a journal for Christmas.  Please let us know which one you’d like…

…or pick one from here.

(p.s. –  at $17.99 each we really aren’t buying you a journal 😉 )
