This story is a good reminder about the importance of using the bias incident reporting and response process. Each of us is responsible to ensure that students, families, staff, and community members feel a sense of belonging and dignity in our schools. This involves actively promoting equity and inclusion and standing up against harmful acts that run counter to these values.
If you see/experience a bias incident, report it!!
CONCUSSIONS
For any concussion reported at your school, please complete the Concussion Brain Injury Reporting Form.
(**The only high school that has reported a concussion so far this school year is La Pine High School.)

- Suicide Prevention TrainingAs a part of our suicide intervention efforts for our Adi’s Act plan, suicide prevention trainings are highly encouraged for our nursing staff. All of our trained suicide risk screeners, which are typically school counselors, school psychs, some nurses, and some SSC’s attend the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) PD every 5 years. This year, ASIST will be offered on Nov. 2 and 3. There will be two additional ASIST trainings offered in the winter and spring for those who need to recertify.
*For the November 2 and 3 training, we only received 1 training slot for nurses. Trevor will be attending the November 2-day training. Lauren and Oliver will attending winter training. Depending on available nursing slots for future trainings, we will prioritize training for those nurses who have the most outdated training dates.
