Lots of info to share today. My apologies ahead of time for the lengthy notes today.
ACR’s- ACR’s are due March 1 for first through fifth grade and May 1 for kindergarten. Please use the latest, greatest version of the ACR, which is available on the district website or here. We will set a date to meet and approve ACR’s after the March 1 deadline. Students who have an ACR on file that was submitted before last year’s deadline do not need to submit another as they are good until that student goes to middle school. If a student is on an ACR and it was submitted after last year’s deadline, they will need to resubmit this year. Please communicate this information to parents.
Kindergarten Round Up- Kindergarten round up day is Wednesday, April 19. Please be sure to publicize with your community. Please let Alandra know if you are doing something earlier.
Fire Drills- January fire drills are still required. Please be sure to get one completed and recorded if you haven’t already done so. We realize there may be some challenges, but these provide a great opportunity to practice. A real fire won’t always cooperate.
Middle School Move Up Day- Middle schools have set Thursday, May 25 as the day that fifth graders will visit the middle schools they will be pointed towards. It will run from 9:30-11:00. Please arrange your own bus transportation as you are much more familiar with your school’s numbers and needs than the middle schools are.
Elementary Report Card Info- Here is a link to some important information that teachers will need when completing report cards. Please be sure that teachers have this information. Thanks!
Fourth Grade Writing Contest- Here is some information about a fourth grade writing contest that you may pass on to your fourth grade teachers if you want.
Good Reminder- Jim Boen shared a recent news story that is a good reminder that you are the face of your building and every move you make is watched and critiqued – even if you don’t know it.
Horizontal Meeting- Reminder that we will be having our horizontal meeting on Tuesday, January 24, at 4:00 in Jewell’s library. See you there.
Building Checks- This building monitoring information was recently sent to you and your lead custodians. I’m just resending it as a reminder to stay vigilant checking your buildings. Please make sure your custodial team has the needed time to complete this monitoring and have your lead contact Dan Dummit or Walter Norris with any concerns you have. Thank you for your continued leadership in maintaining safe buildings.
Ice/Snow Questions- Please refer to our FAQ’s to answer any questions that you may receive regarding snow, snow removal, snow day make up, etc. Don’t try to answer something you don’t know. If it’s not in the FAQ, contact or refer the question to Julianne. We want to make sure all of the information that we share is consistent and accurate.
Be on the lookout for another email today with some information about our February leadership meeting.
That’s all for now. Have a great rest of you Friday and a great weekend- partly sunny and mid 40’s- sounds like shorts weather to me.
