May 26

Thank you for handling everything at your buildings with care, compassion, thoughtfulness and expertise. Many of you have had to deal with some very difficult events recently and I am thankful for how well you have navigated some pretty stormy waters. I Hope today’s notes find you keeping your head above water and looking forward to a restful, enjoyable, well-deserved three day weekend.

Eval Meeting- Below are a few things to remember/ prep for our evaluation meeting in June:

  • Sign up on google doc if you haven’t already (as of Tues. A.M., still had about 7 left to sign up).
  • SLGG data ready
  • Evidence on bucket domains- as you may (or may not) recall, you will be evaluated on each of the buckets this year. My expectation is that you will share with me how you are doing on your goal and/or the ‘ends’ in each of the buckets and we will decide together where you land on each.
  • We won’t be doing the survey domain on your evaluation. As Jay explained in an earlier email to admin., the cost to conduct surveys on enough people was too prohibitive. Instead, we sent chose to send out enough that we will be able to see some district wide trends, but not enough to drill down to the school level.

Hiring- As you are all aware, you may begin interviewing for any of your posted positions as soon as Tuesday, May 30.  Please communicate with each candidate that you are not sure of the timeline for hiring – or even if all of your current openings will be filled.  Feel free to express that you are anxious to fill your openings as quickly as you can and will communicate with the candidate as soon as you are able to do so.  You may follow-up those interviews by calling reference checks on your top candidate(s) – but need to stop there.  Before you reach out to HR for approval to hire you will need a green light to do so from me (or Jim or Jay at the other levels). I am aware of the fact that some of you will be ready to offer a position to your top candidate as soon as Tuesday afternoon, so I will communicate with you just as soon as I am confident you may move forward with hiring.  Let me know if you have any questions regarding this.

EBISS/RTI/SLD- Please read the linked for more information about how we will be moving forward. In addition, I wanted to remind you that Julie will soon be sending a survey to your EBISS team to help us identify areas your teams would like support.

Information Needed: I know this is a crazy time and you are very busy, but I’d like to ask that you please share as much information as you can in this doc. In addition, if you have a copy of your SIW schedule for the year, please place it into this folder. The information is being used as we address workload in negotiations.  Please complete what you can as accurately as you can. If you don’t have something, then don’t create it, just leave it blank. Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you ahead of time.
