Behavior- Thanks to Erich, Anissa, Maria, Tammy, Dana, Jon L., and Sean for spending about 3 1/2 hours on Wednesday discussing behavior programming, including a pretty comprehensive picture of what is happening in other districts our size across the state. No decisions as of yet, but I wanted to update you on where we are. Based on our conversations at our horizontal meeting, our discussion last Wednesday and talks that have been ongoing in the SPED department, Sean and I will be drafting some summaries of our best thinking. We will bring it back to the team that met on Wednesday to be sure we captured it accurately. We will then share ideas with cabinet and elementary principals to help determine steps over the next year, three years and five years. Once again, thanks to those who participated Wednesday and thanks to you for all of your work ‘on the front lines.’

Thanksgiving- I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving break and are able to sit back and reflect on all of your blessings. I have much to be thankful for and one of them is being able to work with such a dedicated, caring and skilled group of principals. Thank you for everything I’ve learned from you and for all of the little things you do each day to make work easier for everyone around you, including me. Thought I’d end by letting Kid President share a few things he is thankful for.
I’ll give you one more thing to be thankful for- Gary’s notes are short this week!!!
