Report Card Info- With report card work day coming up later this month I am sure you are receiving many of the same questions we always receive regarding report cards. Please share the first semester report card information and stretch band information with your teachers. Julie has provided further explanation for the stretch band info, “You can figure out where students are performing in this range by looking at the lexile level on the back of their Wonders leveled readers or looking at the Wonder’s Teacher’s Edition in order to figure out the lexile level of every book students are accessing each week.” Nothing has changed on these documents. I suggest finding a good place for them so you can easily share in the future when your teachers inevitably ask.
ACR’s- ACR’s will be due on Monday, March 2 this year. Please begin sharing this information with families. Let me know if you have any questions.
Kindergarten Round Up- I would like to tentatively set kindergarten round up for April 22. Please let me know by next Friday if you have an issue with that so that we can get it on the calendar.
The Center Foundation Helmet Give Away- We are fortunate to be working with The Center Foundation once again to provide bicycle helmets for any third grader in need. Please schedule a time for your school. You will need to provide 45 minutes for the assembly and fitting. Assemblies need to be scheduled to take place between April 14 and May 29 and must be scheduled in the morning. They can only accommodate one school per day, so please do not schedule a day if another school has already scheduled for that day. Your school contact should expect an email about a month before your assembly with a permission letter and directions. Please be sure your school contact, if not you, is on top of things so permission slips get delivered and collected on time. Stuart Schmidt will be the contact for The Center Foundation. Classified PD- Please share this PD opportunity with your classified staff who provide interventions for students. It will be held on January 31 at Three Rivers. Most questions are answered on the flyer.
Latino Family Night- Please share this information on Latino Family night with staff and families. Thank you.
Inclement Weather- Please take a few minutes to review our Inclement Weather Delay guidelines and share with your staff. This is one of those documents that would be good to review prior to needing to implement it…and hopefully we won’t get to use it.
One Class at a Time- As you likely are aware, Mid Oregon Credit Union and KTVZ sponsors the One Class at a Time program, awarding $500 with a KTVZ News story to share with the community and highlight great things happening in schools. They are currently looking for innovative and relevant classroom programs that we can feature (things happening now, this spring, or even next fall).
DHS Visits- Thank you to all of you who are making sure that DHS employees (and all other non-BLP employees) use our visitor management system to check in just like everyone else. This means using a personal ID, not work badges, and wearing our visitor’s badge. Thanks again for all the great work you and your staff are doing with this.
