Hi Everyone,
Though many of you are already familiar with these apps, up until now they haven’t been widely available to all of our schools and students. However…as of today, we have completed a volume purchase making them available to all Bend-La Pine staff and students (with the exception of Spelling Notebook, which has only been purchased for K-8). They can be downloaded from an individual’s purchased history in the App Store, or Self Service.
Explain Everything is an easy-to-use design, screencasting, and interactive whiteboard tool that lets you annotate, animate, narrate, import, and export almost anything to and from almost anywhere. Create slides, draw in any color, add shapes, add text, and use a laser pointer. Rotate, move, scale, copy, paste, clone, and lock any object added to the stage. This is a great tool for students to use to demonstrate and share their knowledge about a topic.
Book Creator is a simple way to create awesome ebooks on the iPad. Once created, these can be shared easily to other applications and even published to the iBooks store. Many of our users are familiar with the free version of this app, which limits the number of books a user can create. This educationally-purchased version is unlimited.
Spelling Notebook is now available for all students and staff K-8. Students can use this app to create their own spelling lists, then practice their words. Although Spelling City is popular in many of our schools, it requires connectivity in order for students to access their lists. We encourage teachers to switch to Spelling Notebook as it provides a clean interface and does not require an internet connection for students to use.
