Whenever you share a Google doc, slide or sheet, you can choose to share it as editable or viewable. This only shares the item. Often we would like our students to make a copy so that it will reside in their Google Drive. This can be done by going up to File>Make a Copy or you can do it through Google Classroom. However, there is another easy way. Just go to the URL at the top – notice where it says “edit” near the end? All you have to do is replace edit with copy. Share the new URL with the students. This will prompt them to Make a Copy, which will put it in their drive.
