myOn Book Reader and Literacy Tools

myOn has an awesome literacy toolkit that provides students with the opportunity to close read, annotate text, and take notes. Students access the literacy and annotation tools in the myOn book reader to support their reading and understanding of the text.

The reading tools are in every book and include highlighter, sticky notes, literacy emojis, and much more. See below for a list of some of the literacy tools and features.

  • Audio – plays the audio book
  • Highlighter – different text colors to identify different concepts
  • Drawing Tool – mark up page beyond the text
  • Shape Tool – create shapes on the page
  • Sticky Notes – create notes while reading, ask questions, and add literacy emojis for text coding
  • Journal – create long text notes within the text
  • Dictionary – look up a word or show the meaning of a word selected in the book

Another great feature of myOn is that teachers can view how students have annotated the text. Teachers can also add annotations and sticky notes to an individual student’s text.  In addition, teachers can add notes or comments in a student’s journal.
