Conferences are an incredibly valuable opportunity to help students become leaders of their own learning and to build strong school-family partnerships.
We aim for 100% participation in grades 6-10 where conferences take the form of a student led exploration of learning, growth and next steps. Each student prepares for this conference by reflecting on their strengths and areas for growth in each of their classes and gathering evidence of their learning to share with you. Student Led Conferences take place (for the most part) in the student’s Crew room with their Crew leader. However, you should have received an invitation to sign up directly from your Crew or Support Staff facilitator
Juniors and Seniors (and their parent/guardian) are invited to come in for a goal setting conference on a case by case basis. With our Juniors and Seniors, we are prioritizing invitations for students who we are targeting for extra support! These conferences are collaborative teach-student-guardian sessions designed to identify and activate support strategies.

RHS Proficiency Day During Conferences – Sign Up!
On Thursday November 10th there are no regular classes in order to make space and time for CONFERENCES!
However, we ARE offering a Proficiency Day for high school students designed to help students who are behind or struggling in one or more classes to have some extra time and support on assignments and assessments before the trimester ends!

At Realms MS and HS, experiential learning is one of our highest aspirations. We believe in this kind of learning because it allows students to APPLY classroom learning to real world settings AND it so powerfully engages students with multiple learning styles/intelligences. More than anything else, fieldwork and intensives gets kinesthetic, visual, audio, naturalistic and interpersonal learners engaged and “hooked in”!

Annual Fieldwork Contributions
Every year Friends of Realms contributes over $50,000 towards the Realms MS and HS fieldwork budget. This money is CRUCIAL to the success of this kind of learning.
You can help Friends of Realms offset this funding by making your annual fieldwork contribution here.
