Week 1 & 2… Patience in the Parking Lot!

The 1st week or two in school parking lots is ALWAYS a patience tester! Trust me, it does and will settle down once folks start carpooling, bussing more, and learning the lay of the land in our parking lot. In the meantime – please go slow and be patient! We will have staff out there helping direct traffic!

The west, smaller parking lot (Humm side) is reserved for school staff and shared with Humm employees. Please do not use that parking lot for waiting, drop-off, pick-up, or turnaround.

PLEASE DO NOT PULL OVER ON BRINSON BLVD! Pulling over into those bike lanes is a traffic violation and messes up the flow of traffic.

Buses will be looping around the back of the school in the morning and afternoon. This will free up the loop in our main parking lot for pick-up/drop-off.

FIELDWORK PERMISSION FORMS – PLEASE SIGN ASAP!

We are excited to offer our students opportunities to apply their learning in real world contexts… and that’s what fieldwork is all about.

However – in order to participate we MUST have signed permission forms for every student. Our 1st fieldwork outings are NEXT WEEK, so we ask and urge you to sign the attached permission forms ASAP!

At Realms, we have moved to electronic permissions as they are MUCH easier on families and much easier for our office staff to track. However, if you are having a hard time completing these, please call or email our office!

These permission forms are “bundled” for your convenience… you will be signing permissions for several different outings, depending on the grade level. Please click on and digitally sign the correct grade level forms below THIS WEEK!

STUDENT SCHEDULES

Student schedules will be available in StudentVue/ParentVue on September 1st (for all schools).

Middle School Students: Our classes and schedule is very similar to last year! Know that our small school size creates some unique restrictions on scheduling, so we rarely change middle school student schedules. Please direct questions or concerns to Zach Harju ([email protected]).

High School Students: After schedules come out, if you have questions or concerns about your schedule, please use THIS FORM to let us know or request a change.

We do not make schedule changes to move friends together, or to request a different teacher for the same class. Please do not call the office to request a schedule change; if you request follow-up on the form (linked above) we will reach out. Schedule changes can be made up until the 10th day of the trimester, and once the school year starts, our counselor and student success coordinator will be available for individual meetings with students (coordinated through that same google form).

CROSS COUNTRY TEAM @ RMS

REALMS Middle School Cross Country Practice starts Thursday Sept 7th – tomorrow!!

If you haven’t signed up yet, registration will remain open until the end of next week!

In order to participate athletes must have an up to date physical (details on the registration page) and be registered online.

Our XC team practices Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, right after school, from 3:50 to 4:50, and meets in the middle school gym right after school. Our team welcomes runners of all experience and fitness levels, and we would love to have your child come out for XC!

Our XC team will compete in meets on September 19th 26th, October 4t and 11th, as well as the district meet on October 17th. Competing at meets is not a requirement for participating in XC, but it’s a lot of fun and a great way to challenge yourself and measure improvement! We’ll see you out there!

Looking To Set Up A Carpool? Add Your Info Here

Our District works hard to provide great transportation to students, but we know that np matter how hard they try, there will be some long bus riding times. SO… maybe a carpool might help?

First, this form is TOTALLY optional! We are simply trying to help a few parents connect with each other. The goal is to help parents connect and set up carpools.

This form will allow you to add as much or as little detail as you want to. The more you add the more the other people who have filled out the form will see.

We will send out the results of this form ONLY to the families who are looking for or offering rides and are on this form.

From there, parents can reach out to each other to create carpools!
