RHS Family Newsletter 12-16-21

Dear Realms Families,

We hope you have a wonderful, safe and restful Winter Break. We have SO enjoyed having your students on campus this term, and it has been an adventure (to say the least) as we bring back “schooling in real life” and as we bring together the Realms and Skyline communities!

Intensive Week was an AMAZING way to cap off the trimester and while we only have a small selection of the photos here, I think you will get a sense of how hands on, engaging, fun, and “out of the box” our week was!

On behalf of the whole team here, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Roger

A few Excerpts From Our End of Day

HIGHLIGHTS REFLECTION!

My highlight was…

The waffles on Thursday, made by Yen Ling Wang for the class (very good)
Doing angled Bouldering and not falling!
Climbing one of what felt like the highest walls in the bend rock gym
Just making skateboard graphics
Climbing a 5.10-
Doing the actual play despite how nerve racking it was
I really liked being able to dive into a story of my own making. I feel we don’t often acknowledge the beauty in fiction.
Just being able to skate and enjoy my passion.
Going grocery shopping and getting the supplies to make fermentation jars.
Writing as much as I wanted to, and whatever I want to. It was so fun to be able to write freely and get a grade for it
My biggest highlight was getting to see all of the animals and learning how different animals help with humans emotions and process their own
Cutting out and sanding boards was a lot of fun I kinda just jumped right in to it and it was awesome
I really enjoyed getting to recording music and getting to know new people
Making a wood fire pizza while sitting around a bonfire in the snow
Being able to push myself for a challenge I’ve never done before, and successfully achieve what I wanted to do. I have two highlights that equal each other, at the bend rock gym and the circuit, in doing 4 straight top ropes, and I jumped to a hold that I needed in the circuit, and successfully did it.
I loved the one on one time with Anita, and being able to get closer to people who are interested in the.m same things as me.
My favorite part of Skate and Scoot was going to the skatepark with the other people in my intensive.
My favorite part about this experience was meeting a dog at the animal shelter named Tator. He’s been through a lot and it was very interesting to hear about the things he’s gone through, he was also just very energetic and kind.My biggest highlight was getting to see all of the animals and learning how different animals help with humans emotions and process their own
