ACR’s and applications for choice option schools are due on Friday January 19th! If you are CONSIDERING Realms MS or HS for your student for 2024-25, we strongly encourage you to get your application in! We expect a lottery for both 6th and 9th grade openings at Realms.
If you are considering Bend Tech Academy, their application is also due, OR if interested in attending a high school that is NOT your attendance area school, then the ACR must be submitted by 1/19/24.
If you are currently in 6th, 7th, or 9th, 10th, or 11th grade, then your spot at Realms is secure, you do NOT need to re-apply.
Please feel free to share the awesome opportunities and upcoming deadline at Realms MS and HS with your friends and networks. Word of mouth is our best marketing tool!
All the info on how to apply can be found here!
We have ONE MORE INFO NIGHT – THIS WEEK!

YOUTH TRUTH FAMILY SURVEY – PLEASE SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK!
I am writing to ask for 10-15 minutes of your time to complete an online survey that will help us improve your child’s school. Every year we ask families, staff and students to complete this survey, and the results are INCREDIBLY helpful in our school improvement efforts!
Please take the survey before it closes at midnight on January 26th by clicking this link: http://www.ytsurvey.org/bendfamily24
Please note:
- The survey needs to be completed in one sitting.
- We ask that one member of each household fill out the survey.
- If you have more than one child who attends the same school, you may respond to the survey multiple times – one time per child.
- If you write any comments, please do not include your name or anything else that might identify you. Your responses are anonymous, and they will be combined with the responses of other parents and guardians before being shared back with school and district leadership.
We sincerely thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Your response is incredibly valuable to us.
WOW – WHAT A SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER!
Thanks to you all, we raised $18,600 to support Fieldwork, Intensives and Electives at Realms MS and HS!!
Our first ever Peer to Peer fundraising campaign was a huge success and we want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all of the students and family members who helped by making a donation and by spreading the word.
We had over 410 donations and surpassed our goal by a big margin – thank you!
We will be crunching all the numbers and announcing the crews and individual students who were able to bring in the highest number of donations this week and look forward to celebrating with these awesome students.
Thanks for being CREW, NOT PASSENGERS!
RMS Winter Dance – Fri Jan 26th
On Friday January 26th we hope that your middle school student will join us for our middle school winter “New York” dance!
Our middle school leadership class will be rolling out a red carpet and putting on a big apple themed dance for our middle school with music, games, snacks, a photobooth, and of course, dancing!
Tickets are 10 dollars and can be purchased here for your student, and scholarships for the 10 dollar entry fee are available here.
If you would like to cover the cost of a student’s scholarship you can do so on the ticket purchasing page! All proceeds of this dance go towards the cost of the event and to projects that our leadership club work on to improve our school.
The dance will take place from 6-8PM in the Realms Middle School gym. If you’re interested in volunteering at the dance you can sign up to do so here!

Introducing Lani McQuilkin – Our School Based Health Specialist at Realms
If you haven’t met Lani, you should! Lani McQuilkin is our School Based Health Specialist who supports all sorts of health initiatives at Realms MS and HS (as well as MVHS and SVMS), including LOTS of mental health support programming.
This year, Lani is working closely with Allie Chiavetta (RHS Leadership teacher and Activities Director) as well as Addy Torian (counselor) and Kat Tomsic (RMS Student Success Coordinator) to implement a cool new curriculum called Sources of Strength.
Lani and her team of health specialists have a few great resources to share with you, and we have included them below:
From Lani: Help Kids Fight Cyberbullying
Most kids will encounter harmful words or behavior at some point in their digital lives. With help from adults, kids can learn how they can remove themselves from unwanted digital encounters, stand up for others, and report harmful online behaviors.
Talk with your child – early and often – about how to respond to mean or harmful behaviors that occur online. Check out these 6 tips for families to reduce cyberbullying.
From Lani: Teen Driving Awareness Month
Getting a driver’s license is an exciting time for a young person, but can be a little nerve-wracking for parents and families! Luckily, there are plenty of ways to keep your young driver safe:
- having regular conversations about driving safety (including the risks of impaired driving),
- practicing together,
- leading by example, and
- setting expectations and limits.
Learn more about what you can do to support your student as they reach this important milestone, and complete a Parent-Teen Driving Agreement.
