This and That:
Who Packs Your Parachute?: This is a great short read. All of you pack my parachute, that’s for sure!! Although I don’t tell you nearly enough, I am thankful for all of you. I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving week break – you have all certainly earned it!!
Metrics: I am pretty certain that we won’t meet the metrics when released on Monday, November 16th.
The weather is changing: Just a reminder to sign up for BLConnect to receive weather-related closures. While we wouldn’t cancel instruction during CDL, we would close our buildings and that would affect LIPI and childcare. Look for a more detailed flyer on inclement weather practices soon.
Translation Software Training (From Kinsey Martin): Ready to begin using our new software for making translation and interpretation requests? Any staff in your school/department who will make requests needs to complete this training in order to have access. All staff who request translation need to complete this training and transition to this new system before January 2021, when our old process will expire.
The training is available here (see document #5). The training materials are designed to be asynchronous (and less than 30 min!), and you can start using the new system as soon as the training is complete.
Forefront: I want to make sure it is clear that Bridges data needs to be entered into Forefront for each unit. Most teams are choosing to enter unit tests, check-points, or both. Let me know if your team is considering using a different Bridges assessment. Please follow this link to let me know what data your team will be entering into Forefront for each unit. Please have data entered within about one week of students completing the assessment.
Report card news (from TLC): We are in continuing conversations with Becky around report cards and changes due to CDL. As soon as we have the first draft we will share it with you all.
COVID/ Safety related information:
Questions/Concerns about COVID-19 related matters?: Please follow this flowchart. If in doubt about what to do, you can always check with Frank or Kelle. Frank is our Safety Team Lead, and Ann Hollenberg is our School Nurse. You can find our School Safety Checklist here.
