4.16.2023

Between lots of student-led conferences, the book fair in the media center, math games in the classrooms, food in the staff room, and interactive art in the hallways, conferences had a more lively feel than usual! Thanks to everyone who went the extra mile to make help make them successful!

This and That:

2023-2024 Staffing: We have received our general fund staffing numbers for the year. The good news is that we are one of the few schools I have heard of not needing to reduce our staffing. At the moment, we are planning for the same number of classrooms with the same number of teachers:

  • Gr. K = 4 classrooms
  • Gr. 1 = 4 classrooms
  • Gr. 2 = 4 classrooms
  • Gr. 3 = 3 classrroms
  • Gr. 4 = 3 classrroms
  • Gr. 5 = 3 classrooms

**Some GREAT news is that we will have a full-time counselor.** Additionally, I am still waiting to see what our Title 1 and SSC budgets/ staffing will look like. I will continue to let you know as I know more.

Art Coach: Our staffing didn’t have the funds this year to continue with our art coach position (Karen Williams) that we had for several years. We are able to fund it for the last couple of months of school this year, so you may have noticed that Elk Meadow has a current Art Coach posting that I hope to hire this week. 🙂

UKG/ Personal Leave: The personal leave system with UKG isn’t working smoothly right now. For the remainder of this year, please follow the following procedures to request personal leave:

  • Enter your requested date into UKG and choose personal leave. AND
  • Complete a personal leave form so that Chris can ensure your leave meets the 5% rule.

Conference Meals: Please take a moment to thank our EET for spoiling us with conference meals. Here is a link.

Monday Staff Meeting: The Agenda for our staff meeting is math core beliefs and BLS dress code lessons.

SIW Agenda: This week is a district Educator Network Day. Please ensure that you have registered in Performance Matters for your session so the presenters can come prepared. Grades 3-5… I STRONGLY recommend that you attend the session on HD Word Plus. Here is the link to learn more about the sessions
