This and That:
All-in, All-in – YAY, YAY, YAY!! On Monday, we start with all students every day! Please be ready to follow the updated master schedule.
Conferences: Below is the exact same information about conferences that I shared in an email last week:
- “Elementary teachers are expected to host conferences for all students.”
- Can begin April 1st (or sooner) and should be wrapped up by April 30th
- If teachers want to use Friday, the 16th as conference time they can
- All conferences are virtual or over the phone.
- “It is the district’s expectation that staff schedule some conferences in the late afternoon, early evening, and before-school hours to work within families’ schedules.”
- Let Kelle know if you will not be offering a conference to ALL families
- Conferences can be scheduled at any time outside of student contact time.
Compacts: Please return your signed compacts to the office so we can keep track of who has turned them in. Thank you!
Conference Interpreters: Melinda has arranged interpreters for all of our families that need one on April 14 & 15. All other interpreter requests need to go through LinguistLink.
POP Science: Be sure to read and follow the link to the POP Science program from the Bend Science Station that I forwarded to all of you on 4/3. This is a super cool science support that you and your kids are going to LOVE. (P.S. the hands-on materials are here in the building. Here is a short excerpt from the letter:
In an effort to make your teaching lives a little easier, we’ve created POP Science – short, hands-on science units designed specifically for each grade level in Bend-La Pine Elementary Schools. Each unit focuses on a different topic that aligns with one NGSS core idea and one Amplify theme. Our hope is that the step-by-step slide decks, humorous videos, and the supplies we have provided, will minimize your prep time and make it easier for you to teach science while you are navigating ever-changing classroom requirements.
