This and That:
Staff Appreciation: If ever there is a year that educators need to be appreciated, it is THIS ONE! Each day this week, there will be small surprises for staff. Come by the staff lounge on Monday 5/3 after 10:00 for a gift to kick off the week. On Tuesday morning, there will be some coffee and donuts provided by our PTO.
Summer Programming: Below is an update/adjustment regarding pay for both classified and certified employees who work in our district summer learning program. Please share this with your entire staff and encourage any interested to apply.
- Certified (teachers and student services/deans) will get a stipend of $5500 for 3 weeks of summer school and 3 days of training. This is 120 hours of expected work.
- Classified will get a $3500 stipend for 3 weeks of summer school and 2 days of training. This is 112 hours of expected work.
- Classified hired in the afternoon will work half days for $1750.
- HR has edited the current job postings to include the new stipend. Postings will be up for another 10 days.
Staffing: A big congratulation to Rebecca Wright who has been hired a Ponderosa Elementary as their media specialist for next school year! Ponderosa is lucky to get you, Rebecca!
TLC Update: Of particular note in this week’s update: instructional coaching positions open, Lexia and Dreambox summer tutor positions, information about the language arts adoption, Innovative Teaching and Learning Conference information, summer math training opportunities.
Art in the Meadow: For student art, please only use first name and last initial as we will be sharing this video with our whole community (including social media). Thank you!
Bend Science Station Kits: It was fun to see some of you using the Bend Science Station kits this past week and the kids so excited to be engaged in the science! As a reminder, elementary teachers can find some incredible science lessons in Google Drive! Here is a link.

Yearbook Photos: Please contribute photos for the yearbook by clicking this link. There is a folder for each classroom and a miscellaneous folder for any other photos. The deadline is THIS FRIDAY, May 7.
Art in the Meadow: Please start digitizing 2-3 pieces of art for each student and put them in your Art in the Meadow folder. A few ideas for digitizing your art: scan on the copy machine, take a photo with your phone or iPad, have a parent take the photos for you, or the office will take photos for you (art must be in the office by 5/15 for help).
