This and That:
Staffing: I am excited to announce our newest Elk Meadow staff member and first grade teacher will be Larissa Thompson. She has been on leave from Bend-La Pine for the past two years in order to teach abroad in Brazil. Larissa is currently completing her 18th year of teaching. She brings a deep knowledge of literacy, a rich variety of teaching experiences, years of experience with primary, and much more. Although High Lakes would LOVE to have her back next year, they have to reduce staff and we are fortunate to have Larissa join our community! Please give her a warm welcome!
I am hoping to be able to post a 1.0 music position next week. I am also hoping to be given the green light to hire for two kindergarten positions next week.
4/24 Staff Meeting/ SIW: The original plan for the SIW this week was to be a combo staff meeting and “the gift of time” for staff to do whatever is most needed for them (team time or individual time.) Unfortunately, I need to schedule the staff meeting portion for Wednesday morning as I now have a Dr. appointment that conflicts with the SIW time. I apologize for this change. I have a lot of information that I need to get out to staff and have been saving it for our Wednesday SIW. The good news is that you will have the entire SIW time for you own needs (including leaving a little earlier than usual if that would be most supportive of you and your needs.)
Wednesday Morning Staff Meeting: A few of the topics that we will be covering at the staff meeting on Wednesday morning will be room assignments, moving plans, and student placement (pink/blue cards).
PBIS/Collaborative Problem Solving- Now that you have identified a students lagging skills associated with a behavior and some triggers, challenge yourself to complete Part 1 of the CPS steps.
