The gang’s almost all back together!! Monday will likely feel like day 1 of the school year for you as well as our students. It’s a day for excitement and connection and what you spend your time doing on this day will set the stage for the rest of the year. Wear your PCMS swag and please know that you are the right people for this massive job. Our students and families are so lucky to have all of you each day. We’ve got this!!

Links Below: If it’s been a while since you checked out the links below, give them a look. Many have been recently updated along with a few dates you will want to know.

Quarter Grades: If you are someone who gives quarter grades, please make sure that these are complete before you leave for the week. Please see Renee if you need support.

Summer School Opportunities: We are looking for folks who are interested in either being a teacher during summer school in August or anyone who is interested in being a site supervisor/lead teacher. Please see Ryan or I if you are interested. If you already indicated your interest in teaching in the previous form provided, you’re already on the list.

SLGGs: SLGGs are due by this Friday (4/16). Please refer to past staff meeting minutes HERE in order to have the information. If you use mine as a template, please remember that yours should only include the students with whom you work. You are welcome to do other goals too but they must fit the guidelines within the SLGG form. Please ask me if you have questions. I’m happy to help you find what you are looking for.

Conferences: Please refer to information from Christina regarding how to see your conference list. Each conference should last no more than 7 minutes (with a 3 minute buffer in between). Families have received THIS INFORMATION regarding conferences. Please check your list frequently as conference attendance can change on a dime. Teachers must be available in webex during all of the conference times. Dinner will be provided by our awesome PCCO each evening. Please ask Christina if you have any glitches with scheduling that you may need help with.

End of Year Awards: We aren’t there yet, but it is a good time to start thinking about students who stand out this year for our Community, Relationships, Identity, and Legacy Awards. We will start to do nominations and award creation in May.

Lunch QR Change: Ryan will give the most up-to-date information related to lunch and protocols in Monday’s Advisory. The information within the QR code will change to accommodate a different method of lunch option pickup. Students will now be able to indicate their choices when ordering from the cafeteria. Because there will be more options, we will not be able to provide lunches in each wing. Therefore, if students are eating in the Nest, they will pick up their lunch on the landing right above the Nest. If they are eating in the classroom, they will pick up lunches near the elevator close to Dan’s room.

Advisory: Please remember to use the provided Advisory slideshows to make sure that we are all covering the same contact and we ensure reading and math practice. The modeling you provide regarding reading and student monitoring will make this practice consistent and successful. Students may need reminders to bring headphones and books but by Tuesday, students should be prepared each day. Additionally, Anja and Sarah C. may be pulling students from Advisory for individual support as necessary.

Language, Culture and Identity: Click HERE for messages from our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion director.

Election Guidance: With elections coming up, it is a good idea to review our district expectations. In addition, if elected officials are ever part of a classroom project, presentation, or contact, please be sure to contact Lisa or Ryan.

Visitors in the Building: All visitors remain prohibited in the building until further notice. This includes parent volunteers or speakers. Please use webex options to continue these connections.

Unused Personal Leave Payout: Staff is able to have unused personal leave paid out. First, unused personal leave will be rolled to next year to the maximum allowed and then unused personal leave that the employee still has will be sold back this year and will be in final paycheck. The certified rate will be the daily sub rate of $189.36 and can be paid in half and full day increments. Classified rate is $20 per hour and can be paid in one hour increments.  Your balances can be found on your latest paystub. If you prefer to have all unused leave paid, then you need to email Payroll by May  7, 2021. at [email protected].
