Week One has come and gone! Thank you all so much for getting us to this point. We continue to need to practice and model our protocols but in terms of a day-to-day flow, it feels great to have our Golden Eagles with us again! You are all doing a wonderful job and I hope you have received several kuddos from families and students along the way.
As we move into the next few weeks together, continue to give reminders, be consistent, and model what it means to be COVID safe at school. This is now also a great time to communicate with families about what they can expect in terms of at home work, time frames, content being taught, and best ways to contact you. There is no such thing as too much positive and clear communication. Thank you for sharing this with me when it goes out to families.

Inclement Weather and Moving in and out of Hybrid Instruction: This document outlines the expectations of students and staff in District CDL, CDL related to quarantine, Hybrid, and All In models. It is also important to remember that schools might be in one or more model(s) at a time or they may move in and out of a model. For example, most of a school could be in Hybrid but one class could be participating in CDL because of quarantine. Weather Expectations. I will get clarification regarding what type of schedule will be used during CDL days. I know that Friday of last week felt quite short and at the high schools, CDL is following a typical schedule. It is likely that we will do this too and I will have more information later this week regarding this decision.
C-19 Code: You will begin seeing a C19 code for attendance. This is an umbrella absence code that we are using for our COVID-19 exposures, cases and students following our COVID guidelines for any illness symptoms. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Anita. As a reminder, confidentiality is critical. You do not need to investigate as that is the role of our health officials. Our officials supporting these decisions will also not allow a student back into the building until it is deemed a safe entry.
No SIW this Wednesday: We will have a quick 10 minute meeting in my webex room on Wednesday morning from 9:35-9:45. I will share our future weekly schedules and SLGG info with everyone this week as well.
Attendance: Please make sure to take attendance for students in class on in-person days as well as during Wednesday webex meetings. In the event that we have a day like today, only those that were required to be in the meeting (L-Z) would need to have attendance taken.
Safety Concern Anonymous Tips: Please remember to use this document if you’d like to share a concern with the safety team. As a reminder, if students express a safety concern to you, please let them know that you will share it with the safety team if you are unable to solve it easily. ANONYMOUS SAFETY SHARE
Safety Reminders: Please continue to remind your students to dress warm as they will be outside for a portion of their day during the lunch hour. They also are needing consistent reminders regarding social distancing in the hallways, before and after school, and when waiting for a class to open. Keep giving gentle corrections and praising when you see things going really well. Students are working hard and so are you. Thank you for helping us maintain our protocols!
ACR Deadlines: These are quickly approaching and there is now an electronic form that parents can use for ACRs. Families (and you if you have a student on an ACR) can find this information HERE. This year all families will need to complete a new form as boundaries for the new HS will be in effect.
Lunch Time Specifics: HERE are the lunch time breakdowns that we shared on Wednesday.
OBOB: The Middle School Schoolers will be battling student teams on Wednesday, February 17th beginning at 1 pm, every 45 minutes. Battles will occur in Marni’s room if you’d like to support students in reading excellence!
