Schedule Update: HERE is the information you will need regarding the updated Wednesday schedule. Due to this time of year, there will likely be a need for a brief staff meeting. I will do my best to keep it short and sweet. To help with this, please make sure to read this blog each week and ask questions along the way.
Curriculum Orders: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JW5ZEEldaYFCeURx4gzsrn0f0gPLPuTdbwephS-D2u0/edit?usp=sharing
Please check the curriculum order for your department on the spreadsheet. It includes last year’s order as well as the items your department put on for next year. We will remove all items from last year’s order prior to placing next year’s order but want to be sure that there is nothing that needs to be re-ordered. Please update the spreadsheet by Wednesday, May 12.
Lunch Reminder: Please remember to greet your students at the door prior to leaving for lunch. This is an opportunity to remind them of their seating assignments and to give any other behavioral reminders that may be needed to ensure that we are able to maintain our contact tracing via seat assignments.
Testing Reminders: This week we will begin testing. Please refer to the Advisory State Testing Outline for all of your questions that may arise regarding testing. Advisory slides are set up to support you. Monday morning is NOT the time to start looking at this because it will take some time. Remember, Monday will be used for practice testing. Here are some other things to know:
- If you have trouble the day of the test, please call 7804 and Christina will radio Ryan or I to support you.
- You must ensure a safe testing environment for your classroom as well as the state testing cards that Renee put in your boxes. This has SSIDs and names which cannot be out of your control.
- Amy, Kellie, Andy, and Sarah have provided you with accommodations information for all of your students this year. Please be sure to have a plan for these students during the session if they have accommodations.
- Here is the list of students who have OPTED OUT. This will change along the way. If you have one of these students, they should be reading or doing Delta Math during testing time.
- All students should use headphones. If you need some, please contact the office although most students should have them as part of Delta Math.
- If you have a student who is currently in quarantine, they can access a practice test via the state testing site if they wish. They will begin testing upon returning to class.
- Notify Ryan or I immediately regarding a potential test impropriety.
National Board Certification: Are you interested in becoming a National Board Certified Teacher? If so, HERE is an informational letter.
Hot Weather- Doors and Fans: Fans can only be used if they are pulling fresh air in from the outside (stationed by a window or exterior door) not if they are only circulating existing air in the classroom (therefore, ceiling fans should not be used). Any exterior classroom door that is within the fenced area of a school can be opened. Exterior doors not within a fenced area can be opened but must be closely supervised (ie. closed when no adult is monitoring it).
