Hello, Golden Eagle Families!
I hope you had an awesome week. It was another fun week in The Nest. Students toured downtown art galleries, tested water samples at Mirror Pond, and continued to power through our state tests. Next week we have many athletes competing at the regional track meet and will host families for 5th Grade Family Night. It’s an exciting time of year!

Upcoming Lockdown Drill
On Friday, June 2nd we will be running our spring lockdown drill at PCMS. All the drills we do are not only required by Oregon law, but prepare staff, students and our community on how to respond in the event of an emergency. We take these drills seriously, and we expect our students to take them seriously as well. Our students and staff were trained in the fall when we did our first lockdown drill, and students will be getting a refresher on protocols by watching a Standard Response Protocol video in Advisory next week, and subsequently discussing specific safety plans with our School Resource Officer. During our drill, Bend Police Department will be on site to support our efforts. You can find more information about Standard Response Protocol (SRP) in the following guides.
Sparrow Community Service Hours
The deadline for students to enter hours for their service hours is Friday, May 26. Click here for more info and us QR code to enter hours online.
Library Books & Media Materials Deadline
All library books and media materials are due by Friday, June 2nd. If your child has lost or damaged a book the fine will need to be paid before summer break. Please do not pay the fine until you check with your child to see if they have the book.
2023 Football Season Family Information Night
Any 6th or 7th grade students interested in 7/8 football this fall are welcome to attend the Golden Eagle Football Family Information Night at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 8th. You can meet the coaches, hear more about the program, and most importantly ask questions about the upcoming season. The meeting will take place in the Nest.
8th Grade iPad Returns
All 8th graders will turn in their iPad and charging brick/cord on Monday, June 12th. They will be given full instructions for this process prior to the 12th. If they DO NOT turn in their charger a fine will be placed on their account for $30. Please note, we cannot accept any chargers other than the ones we gave out. They will get new iPads in High school.
7th and 8th graders who have a 6th generation iPad will also be turning in their iPad that week as that model is being retired. They will receive a new iPad in the fall. We will notify these students prior to the last week of school.

REMINDER: Purchase Yearbook!
These high quality yearbooks are published by Herff Jones and include hard covers and 40+ full color pages packed full of memories. A yearbook costs $20.00 and should be purchased online via our TouchBase payment system. You will enter your student’s ID number and last name; click on “fines & fees”; click on “items at PCMS”, click on “yearbook items” and click items you want to purchase. If you wish to purchase with cash or check (made payable to PCMS), deliver it to the main office. Wondering if you purchased a book? You can aways log into TouchBase and check your student account history or (541) 355-7801.
Yearbook Donations
Thank you to those who have donated funds to help us reach PCMS’s equity goal to insure all students enjoy taking home a book of middle school memories. We are still accepting donations. Please consider a suggested contribution of $20. Donate via our online TouchBase payment system.
Check Lost and Found Now!
All students should start checking lost and found for misplaced belongings and do so before June 16…last day of school. Please note that ALL remaining items will be donated to local charities at the end of the day on June 16.
