Principal’s Hello

It’s Friday the 13th, during Halloween season, in a middle school. What could go wrong?! Absolutely nothing–today was amazing! Our students are knocking it out of the park with their Friday spirit wear, and our spooky door competition is heating up!

Here was the scoreboard this morning:

We’re getting ready for our final week of the fall spirit competition, with Friday including both the spirit wear (or costume) piece and our door decorating competition. I’ll include some door pics next week. And here again is our messaging about costumes:

Please see below for messages about e-bikes, the Halloween dance, conferences, and other stuff. Thanks for your partnership, and have an awesome weekend with your families.

Golden Eagle Sports Highlights

On Tuesday, our cross country runners had a meet at Pilot Butte Middle School against Bend International, Westside Village, High Desert Middle School and Pilot Butte. Our runners placed first in 6th grade boys and girls and 7th grade boys and girls. They placed second in 8th grade boys. We had overall individual race winners of 8th grade boys, 7th grade boys, and 6th grade boys and girls. We also had individual second place winners in 7th grade boys and girls and 8th grade girls.

This past Wednesday at Sky View, the 8th grade football team wasted little time, taking an 8-0 lead on a four play drive.  Later in the first half, they scored again on the first play of the drive.  With the score 30-0 at halftime, the Golden Eagles now 4-0, proved too much for their opponent. The Golden Eagles came out on top with a score of 30-16. Next week’s game is at High Desert at 5:00.

The 7th grade football team held on to win 8-0 vs Sky View on Wednesday in front of a Pom-Pom waving home field crowd (thanks to our fans!). Great tackling led to the shutout, and sound blocking resulted in no sacks given up on the day. Zero Golden Eagle turnovers also helped in the win, giving us a 3-1 record, tied for 1st place. Please come cheer us on next week as we play High Desert at home!

Our 7th grade volleyball team had success serving this week. On Tuesday, they had 45 aces and another 25 aces on Thursday. We are making progress on serve receive, getting more digs and adding pass, set, kill into our matches. We have also started playing with a Libero, who is doing a great job. We would love your support at our next home game on Thursday.
