Principal’s Hello

Dear Golden Eagle Families,

What a beautiful day! A group of our design students just returned from a Rube Goldberg competition hosted by Central Oregon STEM Hub, and our 7th graders traveled to Skyliners Lodge this week for some team-building, snow study, and hot chocolate sipping.

We’ve already raised more than $2,500 this year for Bryson, our Sparrow. (More about Sparrows here.) We’ve raised these funds through our Halloween Dance, Valentine’s Dance, and Val-o-Gram sales. The best way to raise money for Bryson now, moving forward, is to complete service hours. (See the message from earlier this week.)

Starting Monday, April 8, we will have new schoolwide iPad expectations in all classes. We created these expectations as a staff over multiple sessions after hearing a presentation from a PCMS parent and local pediatrician. Here are the slides we’re showing to students next week:

Thank you for your input these last couple years about iPads, and thank you for your partnership moving forward. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Next year, our iPad expectations will extend beyond the classroom to cover the entire school. Students will need to keep iPads in lockers during lunchtime and will be asked to put them away during passing times.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Sean
