January 13, 2022

Everyone – the Weekly Update is pretty short this week.  Not much more to say other than keep up the good work and take care of yourself to the best of your ability.   Thanks for being more flexible than ever before and dealing with last minute subs being sent your way.  We couldn’t do this without you and the leadership you are providing. We got this!

Updates, Reminders, Department Info and Rants…

From Tami Pike – All staff should be advised to contact their supervisor for any COVID questions/concerns outside of school hours. The principal should reach out to nurse Michelle Spetic AND Tami Pike via email. (Please include both Tami and Michelle when sending an email.)  It is important for nurses and contact tracers to have personal time during non-school hours.

When you are contacted by school staff, please refer to the guidance for exposures/positive cases. If you still are unsure of the answer, please reach out to Tami and Michelle.

*At this time, 1/10/22: If a fully vaccinated staff person is exposed to a positive case and they currently have no symptoms, they can work on site. (Fully vaccinated – received 2nd dose of 2 dose vaccine series less than 6 months ago or has received the COVID-19 booster.) Tami highly encourages fully vaccinated, exposed individuals to test on day 5 and work remotely (if possible).

From Julie –

K-1 Foundational Skills Educator Network Day Materials-We have had a few people reach out and ask if they can go ahead and hand out the decodable readers and other materials that were reserved for the January 12th Educator Network Day.  Please DO NOT distribute these materials out to teachers.  We are going to save the materials to distribute on February 9th.

Report Cards-  Report Cards are done and loaded into Synergy.  Teachers can now access them.  The techs are still making some corrections to the template, so I would advise against inputting data directly into the report card until the end of next week.  Here is information regarding changes to the 21-22 report card and a possible parent letter.

The Red Zone – Things to Share or Do…

Read the TLC BlogThis week we want to highlight the second section about who to have your teachers turn to for tech support.  Currently, they are often going directly to Brenna and Tracy before going through the building support team.  When Brenna and Tracy are at the top of everyone’s list, they can’t keep up with the demand in a timely manner.  Please put your building support team down in your next building newsletter, so your staff knows all the options they have to get help.  Thanks!

Return after 5 day – Read the email from Julieanne again that discusses the ability for staff to come back on Day 6 of a quarantine. Pay particular attention to the type of mask to be worn and lunch protocols.  No need to take temperature on those that return.
