September: Recruit students, establish green team, understand waste process and ensure bins and sign are set-up (help identify improvements needed)
Sept/Oct: Global Food Waste Prevention Week
October, first Wednesday: International Walk + Roll to School Day
October/November Pumpkin recycling campaign (either collect or promote existing programs)
November Plastic Free Lunch Day
November 14: Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
December: Gift Give, Gently used toy and book drive
December: Promote Christmas tree best practices, use Boy Scout composting pickup (Deschutes National Forest holiday tradition-cut your own tree, Fourth graders eligible for free Christmas tree permit as a part of the Every Kid Outdoors initiative)
January: Idle-Free campaign (many ideas, Thank you for Not Idling parade, signs/pompoms!)
February: Love the Bus month campaign
April Earth Month, April 22 Earth Day
May: Rubbish Renewed Fashion Show, fun green team attendance or design an outfit
June: Sustainable Clean out events for locker clean out, staff moving and retiring, etc
