Harvest Party & Fun Run, Oct 28
It is almost time for our harvest celebration which takes place during school (for the students) on Tuesday, October 28th. This is always a very fun time filled with crafts, sweet treats, academics related to harvest, and of course a Costume Fun Run on Tuesday.
A few things to note about the harvest celebration:
– Students are welcome to dress in costumes but they need to be appropriate for all. Absolutely NO scary, gory or cultural appropriation.
– Please do not send small pieces as they inevitably get lost throughout the business of the day and we will not be here on the 31st to help find them!
– All students will participate in the fun run; please send your student with comfortable shoes.
-We encourage upcycled and homemade costumes. On Monday, students will have an opportunity to make a mask to wear instead of a costume.
NO SCHOOL Days in October, November
Oct 29-Oct 31:
NO SCHOOL for District Conference Days. Westside Village will be closed for all Westside students, K-8, these three days. We do our conferences earlier in the school year, so there will be no conferences for Westside families these days.
Friends of WVMS is offering camp for these days. Sign up through Bend Parks and Rec!
Nov 11:
NO SCHOOL in observation of the Veterans’ Day holiday. We would like to give our thanks to those that have and continue to serve our country. Thank you!
Nov 24-28:
NO SCHOOL for Thanksgiving break. We hope you are able to enjoy some time with your loved ones, rest, and get outside in nature.
Friends of WVMS is offering camp for these days (Mon-Wed). Sign up through Bend Parks and Rec!
Healthy Tech Pledge to Delay Smartphone & Social Media
Our Central Oregon Well Wired organization (www.wellwired.org) is inviting families to sign a Healthy Tech Pledge to delay the use of smartphones and social media. They will be creating a list of Family Healthy Tech Pledgers at each school in BLP, so you can start connecting with other families. It’s much easier to choose basic tech and for kids to feel included when we join together!

The Giving Campaign
🌋 The 2025–26 Giving Campaign Has Erupted! 🌋
The 2025-26 school year is off to a great start! We’re thrilled to have you as part of our community as we partner to support our amazing students, teachers, and staff at Westside Village. Together, we’re fueling the fire of creativity, curiosity, and community — and now it’s time to ignite our annual Giving Campaign!
This year’s goal: Raise $10,000 to help keep our school and programs innovative, inclusive, and uniquely Westside Village!
Your Donation Helps Us Achieve These Goals:
· Healthy snacks — fueling our students so they can keep their learning lava flowing.
· Visiting artists, scientists, and athletes from our community — sparking creativity and inspiration.
· Dishwashing staff — so we can keep things sustainable and say goodbye to disposable dishware.
· New risers for our Upstairs Community — helping our kids rise to the occasion.
· A new dog waste station — so our neighborhood pups can keep doing their part to keep the campus clean and tail-waggingly welcoming.
· Student scholarships — ensuring every kid can join clubs, adventures, and ignite their passions!
