With the Results Reports due in two weeks, please ensure that you send or share your completed presentations with Jess. You can upload your presentation directly to this folder in our shared Google Drive. If it’s easier, you can send your presentation to Jess, and she will upload it to the shared folder.
For your convenience, here is the link to the template that outlines the expected data and information to include in the presentation:
- Tier 1 Program Goal and Results/Progress
- Tier 2 Program Goal and Results/Progress
- Use of Time Data (optional)
- Student Conference Data
- SchooLinks Data (MS and HS only)
- Program Celebrations (optional)
- Next Steps
Here is our PLC slide deck from April that goes through each expectation with more detail.
Please let Jess or Jennifer know if you have any questions!
Planning for Next Year and CSCP expectations
Many of you are having your end-of-year planning days to get a jump start on next year. If you’d like Jess to attend part of your planning day, please send her an invite!
Remember, your updated annual calendar is due by October next year. Our CSCP level agreements should be integrated into your annual calendar, specifically the core/Tier 1 curriculum agreements by grade level. Please work with your team to come up with the best course plan for your school site to ensure that ALL students are receiving the core school counseling program.
For your reference, here are the documents:
Administrators are also aware of this expectation. Jennifer and Jess have been advocating for CSCP support in their PLC this year and will continue to do so before the new school year. If you encounter any difficulties working through this with your administrator, Jennifer is available to support you. Please reach out if needed!
Some additional planning considerations:
Jess and ICCL will be developing templates for grade-level lessons in both general school counseling and SchooLinks activities. These templates will be designed for anyone to use and adapt to their specific school site. While counselors have the flexibility to create and use their own templates, our goal is to ensure all students receive a consistent core curriculum. Although the implementation may vary from school to school, the learning targets and standards should remain uniform.
The program agreement documents will serve as a guide for our Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP), following the recommended 80/20 model. This means that 80% of the curriculum will align with district standards, while the remaining 20% will address specific school needs. This latter portion will not be included in the district agreement plan but can be part of your annual calendar.
We will receive training from SchooLinks this fall on our District Directed Day on August 28th. The training will focus on the four- and six-year course planner, Educational Plan and Profile, and data/analytics.
Our PLC and END work throughout the year will aim to focus on our program goals and journey towards a comprehensive school counseling program!
High School: Pre ACT Results Resource
Here is a resource to share with families and students now that they have received their Pre ACT scores. With more colleges returning to standardized testing, it is important to provide students and families with resources to support the decision-making process for post-secondary options. The linked handout includes a slide deck with more detailed information. We hope to do something similar in the fall after the PSAT.

High School: Senior Year End Activity Requirements
Hello HS Counseling Team!
As we approach the end of the academic year, we want to make sure that all seniors have completed some critical tasks in SchooLinks prior to graduation in June. We discussed this back in January for Early Grads and now it is time to focus on the larger senior class. We have also communicated this information with the HS admin at their PLC in March and emphasized that two essential items should be incorporated into the Senior Check-Out process.
We are sending a friendly reminder to support student completion of the following items:
1. Alumni Feature in SchooLinks:
Before graduating in June, seniors are required to complete the alumni feature in SchooLinks. Once graduated, their SchooLinks account will transition to an Alumni status. To facilitate this transition seamlessly, seniors must update their personal email and password in SchooLinks. This step is crucial as it ensures continued access to SchooLinks for tasks such as requesting high school transcripts and utilizing its features post-graduation.
2. Senior Year End Activity:
Additionally, we urge all seniors to complete the Senior Year End Activity in SchooLinks, which encompasses the following updates:
- Post-Secondary Plan
- College Applications (if applicable)
- Enrollment Decision (this determines where their transcript will be sent!)
- Scholarships (if applicable)
- BLS Student Senior Survey
As we start closely monitoring post-secondary preparation and outcomes, this task is crucial for gathering district wide data to use for future planning support for our current students.
Below are two resources to aid seniors in completing these tasks. We encourage collaboration within your respective admin/counseling teams to strategize the most effective means of getting this information out to seniors as well as providing support for students to complete the tasks. Some suggested avenues include advisory sessions, class meetings, classroom lessons, etc.

High School: Preparing Juniors for College Application Process (sent via email as well)
I wanted to share a new workshop series/ template I put together to help students prepare for applying to four-year schools. This template/slide deck is flexible and just an example of what we hope to be developing in the coming years for our core and targeted programming. We are hoping that this content could easily fit into rotator schedules, flex times, or as classroom lessons if that is what you deem fit for your team/school. As we approach the end of the year, with most of our tier 1 initiatives well underway, we thought that we could provide additional support by focusing on a targeted intervention/programming to assist students as they prepare for the college application process this fall. We are hoping that this template is a complement to our ongoing rollout of SchooLinks and our commitment to preparing students for success. With the rollout of our HS CSCP agreements, we aim to have this type of content in place for our 11th-grade students next year, but if you are wanting to use it now, please do! (post AP/IB tests in May is a great time to roll this out!).
As we look forward, we are excited about the opportunity to develop more collaborative templates like this that will streamline our tier 1 and tier 2 programming efforts. With input from the HS team, this will become a significant focus for the ICCL team next year as we aim to enhance and refine our core programming. We are working on taking small steps toward a more efficient and impactful approach to school counseling programming.
